• Recalled ahead of start Wednesday
The Diamondbacks recalled Mena from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

Advice: Mena was in the Diamondbacks' clubhouse Tuesday, and manager Torey Lovullo noted that the right-hander, if officially called up, would deserve the opportunity to start Wednesday, per PHNX Diamondbacks. Mena was part of the package acquired by the Diamondbacks from the White Sox in the Dominic Fletcher trade in February. Mena has spent the entire year in Reno, and over his 16 minor-league starts, the 21-year-old is 3-2 with a 4.90 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 89:38 K:BB over 82.2 innings. He will make his major-league debut Wednesday on the road against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 2:50 pm
  • Diamondbacks recall Cristian Mena from Triple-A
Diamondbacks recalled RHP Cristian Mena from Triple-A Reno.

Advice: The 21-year-old right-hander will be thrown right into the fire, making his big-league debut on Wednesday night against the Dodgers. Mena registered a 4.90 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and an 89/38 K/BB ratio over 82 2/3 innings in 16 starts at Triple-A Reno. He’s certainly not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes. • RHP Dean Kremer activated from 10-day IL
Orioles activated RHP Dean Kremer from 10-day injured list.

Advice: Kremer is set to start Wednesday’s game against the Mariners opposite Logan Gilbert. Kremer is returning from a triceps injury. He is 3-4 with a 4.32 ERA on the season. Kremer could be a streaming option in deeper formats. Rotoworld Today, 11:43 am

  • Activated ahead of start
The Orioles activated Kremer (triceps) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: Kremer will rejoin the Orioles' rotation with a start Wednesday against the Mariners. He missed six weeks of action with a right triceps strain and did not pitch well on a rehab assignment, posting an 11.42 ERA and 9:4 K:BB over 8.2 innings. Even with a plus matchup on tap versus Seattle, fantasy managers might be wise to give Kremer a start or two before activating him. Rotowire.com Today, 11:25 am

  • Expected to get multiple turns
The Tigers recalled Montero from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Montero will draw the start Wednesday in Minnesota. While he's technically filling in for Jack Flaherty (back) on Wednesday, Montero will receive multiple turns as a replacement for Casey Mize (hamstring), per manager A.J. Hinch. Montero has allowed nine runs with an 11:4 K:BB over 8.2 innings with the Tigers this season and holds a 5.03 ERA and 54:30 K:BB across 48.1 frames for Toledo. Rotowire.com Today, 9:28 am

  • RHP Cristian Mena could start Wednesday
RHP Cristian Mena could make his MLB debut on Wednesday.

Advice: Mena was spotted in the Diamondbacks’ clubhouse prior to Tuesday’s game. While Manager Torey Lovullo said Mena is on their taxi squad, Arizona doesn’t have a scheduled starter for Wednesday’s game in Los Angeles and Mena last pitched in Triple-A on June 26th. Mena, acquired in a trade with the White Sox last offseason in exchange for outfielder Dominic Fletcher, is already on the 40-man roster. The No. 11 prospect in Arizona’s system according to MLB.com, Mena had a 4.90 ERA in 16 starts with Triple-A Reno. Rotoworld Today, 7:29 am
  • Likely starter for Wednesday
Mena has joined the Diamondbacks' taxi squad and appears in line to make his major-league debut Wednesday against the Dodgers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Manager Torey Lovullo acknowledged Mena's presence in the clubhouse Tuesday and said that "if that does come up [Wednesday], [Mena] deserves the opportunity," per PHNX Diamondbacks. Mena is a 21-year-old right-hander who was traded to Arizona over the winter. He has spent the entire 2024 season to date with Triple-A Reno, posting a 4.90 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 89:38 K:BB over 82.2 innings spanning 16 starts. A road matchup against the Dodgers represents a tough landing spot, and most will want to wait and see how the youngster fares before considering him for a fantasy roster. Rotowire.com Today, 5:48 am
  • Craig Kimbrel slams door on Mariners on Tuesday
Craig Kimbrel slammed the door on the Mariners on Tuesday night, retiring all three hitters that he faced in the ninth inning to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: It wasn’t the smoothest of innings for Kimbrel, as he plunked Luke Raley to start the frame and also hit Jorge Polanco with one out in the inning, but he rebounded to get Dominic Canzone on a ground out to first and Julio Rodriguez on strikes to end it. Aside from a small blip early in the season, Kimbrel has been exceptional in the ninth inning for the Orioles this season. He has now converted 20 of his first 24 save opportunities on the season while posting a 2.30 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 46/14 K/BB ratio over 31 1/3 innings in 35 appearances. • Collects 20th save
Kimbrel hit two batters and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Kimbrel was a little wild, but he didn't let the extra traffic on the bases rattle him. After allowing just two runs (one earned) over 9.1 innings in June, he's off to a decent start in July, with this outing also being his 20th save of the campaign. Overall, he's at a 2.30 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 46:14 K:BB through 31.1 innings this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:44 pm
