    Advice: Mena was in the Diamondbacks' clubhouse Tuesday, and manager Torey Lovullo noted that the right-hander, if officially called up, would deserve the opportunity to start Wednesday, per PHNX Diamondbacks. Mena was part of the package acquired by the Diamondbacks from the White Sox in the Dominic Fletcher trade in February.     Orioles activated RHP Dean Kremer from 10-day injured list.

    The Orioles activated Kremer (triceps) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

    Advice: Kremer will rejoin the Orioles' rotation with a start Wednesday against the Mariners. He missed six weeks of action with a right triceps strain and did not pitch well on a rehab assignment, posting an 11.42 ERA and 9:4 K:BB over 8.2 innings. While he's technically filling in for Jack Flaherty (back) on Wednesday, Montero will receive multiple turns as a replacement for Casey Mize (hamstring), per manager A.J. Hinch.     Craig Kimbrel slammed the door on the Mariners on Tuesday night, retiring all three hitters that he faced in the ninth inning to preserve a two-run advantage.

    Advice: It wasn’t the smoothest of innings for Kimbrel, as he plunked Luke Raley to start the frame and also hit Jorge Polanco with one out in the inning, but he rebounded to get Dominic Canzone on a ground out to first and Julio Rodriguez on strikes to end it. Aside from a small blip early in the season, Kimbrel has been exceptional in the ninth inning for the Orioles this season. He has now converted 20 of his first 24 save opportunities on the season while posting a 2.30 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 46/14 K/BB ratio over 31 1/3 innings in 35 appearances. After allowing just two runs (one earned) over 9.1 innings in June, he's off to a decent start in July, with this outing also being his 20th save of the campaign.
