    • Three hits in Monday's loss
Ruiz went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Advice: It was the backstop's first three-hit performance since March 30, but his third multi-hit effort in his last five starts. Ruiz is showing signs of life at the plate, and over his last 11 games he's batting .289 (11-for-38) with three doubles. Rotowire.com Today, 8:32 am

    • Swipes ninth bag
Springer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: The veteran outfielder extended his hitting streak to six games while pilfering his ninth bag of the year in nine attempts. Springer is batting .550 (11-for-20) with two doubles, three homers, four runs and 10 RBI during his heater, but he still has a long way to go climb out of his early-season hole -- his .641 OPS is well below his .824 career mark. • jared Koenig says MRI negative on forearm
Jared Koenig said an MRI on his sore forearm revealed no structural damage.

Advice: Koenig was placed on the IL on Saturday due to forearm inflammation. In light of the good news, he might have a shot at returning right after the break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:54 pm

    • No structural damage
An MRI on Koenig's left elbow showed swelling but no structural damage, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Koenig will remain sidelined through the All-Star break, but he looks to have avoided a major injury. The left-hander has been a revelation out of the Brewers' bullpen in 2024, collecting a 1.66 ERA and 36:11 K:BB over 38 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:54 pm

    • Throws off mound
Garcia (elbow) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: The reliever will throw another bullpen session Wednesday before the next steps in his rehab program are determined. Garcia has missed just two weeks with a nerve issue in his right elbow, so it's possible he'll skip a rehab assignment and return from the 15-day injured list whenever the Blue Jays feel that he's ready. With Jordan Romano (elbow) out indefinitely, Garcia should be back in the mix for saves once he returns, perhaps even as the club's top option. Chad Green has been serving as Toronto's closer since Garcia landed on the IL but hasn't received any save chances during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 am

    • Yimi Garcia threw a bullpen on Sunday
Yimi García (elbow) threw a bullpen without issue on Sunday.

Advice: Blue Jays manager John Schneider said García will do it again Wednesday before the team decides on the next steps. With Jordan Romano shutting down his throwing program again, García could return to a closer’s role for the remainder of the season (or until the trade deadline) if he responds well to the next bullpen session. • Tagged with six runs
Anderson (7-8) yielded six runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Tigers.

Advice: Anderson gave up one run through three innings before the Tigers plated three runs in the fourth. He was charged with two more when Carson Kelly drilled a three-run homer off Andrew Wantz in the fifth. It was the most runs allowed by Anderson this season and his ERA jumped from 2.63 to 3.03 through 104 frames. He went 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA in six June outings. Anderson's next start is lined up to be on the road against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:47 am

    • Scores twice Sunday
Bregman went 1-for-5 with a double and two runs scored Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Bregman led off the fourth inning with a double and came around to score, accounting for most of his production. Though his season-long numbers remain fairly unimpressive, Bregman did have a productive June by hitting .310 with two homers, 11 RBI and 19 runs scored in 25 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:29 pm

    • Crushed by Giants
Paxton (7-2) allowed nine runs on 12 hits and two walks over four innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Giants.

Advice: Paxton gave up four runs through three frames before the Giants piled on with a five-run fourth inning. The veteran southpaw had a very odd month of June; he gave up six earned runs in 1.2 innings against the Pirates on June 5 but allowed just two total runs over his next three outings before Sunday's unraveling. Overall, he posted a 6.46 ERA this month, raising his season mark to 4.28 through 15 starts. Paxton's next start is currently lined up to be at home against the Brewers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:41 pm
