    • Registers 11th save
Munoz earned a save against the Astros on Monday, striking out two batters in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Munoz had just a one-run lead to work with when he came into the game in the ninth inning, but he made things look easy with a perfect frame. The right-hander now was nine straight successful save conversions since blowing his lone save of the season against Colorado on April 21. Munoz has given up just one earned run over his past 14 appearances and has recorded an impressive 21:2 K:BB across 16 innings during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 pm

    • Andrés Muñoz gets 11th save with perfect ninth
Andrés Muñoz set down the Astros in order in the ninth for his 11th save Monday.

Advice: Muñoz struck out two of the three batters he faced. After picking up holds in three of his first seven appearances, Muñoz has spent the last month and a half only being used in games he had a chance of finishing, earning nine saves in the process. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:31 pm

    • Secures seventh save
Duran picked up the save Monday against Kansas City. He pitched one-third of an inning with no strikeouts, allowing one unearned run on two hits.

Advice: Duran entered to collect the last out with runners on second and third and a four-run lead. The Twins reliever barely survived as a hit-by-pitch, two hits and a fielding error allowed three runs to cross. However, after all that chaos, Duran promptly retired Bobby Witt via a one-pitch groundout with runners on second and third to walk away victorious. The flamethrowing righty has secured the last four Minnesota saves, posting a 2.70 ERA and 3:1 K:BB over 3.1 innings during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:28 pm

    • Jhoan Duran hangs on for one-out save Monday
Jhoan Duran notched a one-out save on Monday against the Royals.

Advice: Technically it’ll go down as the seventh save of the season for Duran as he came on to face MJ Melendez with the potential tying run in the on-deck circle. Things got interesting shortly afterwards as he wound up hitting Melendez with a two-strike pitch before ensuing batter Dairon Blanco followed with a run-scoring single that put the potential tying run on-base. A throwing error by third baseman Willi Castro allowed another run to cross the plate, making it a one-run ballgame in the process, before Duran retired Bobby Witt Jr. on a soft comebacker to end the contest. • Notches sixth save
Duran threw a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout against the Rangers on Saturday to earn his sixth save of the season.

Advice: The Twins grabbed the lead in the bottom of the eighth on an Alex Kirilloff three-run homer, and Duran was there the next half inning to close the door. He retired the side in order on just eight pitches and is now the team leader in saves with six to Griffin Jax's five, even though Duran missed the first month of the season due to an oblique injury. Duran has been used occasionally in the eighth since making his return, but he's still clearly the preferred closing option in Minnesota when manager Rocco Baldelli has the luxury of holding him back for the ninth. • Picks up one-out save
Megill recorded a one-out save in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: The Brewers were hoping to give Megill the night off, but they were forced to turn to him with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and the tying run in the batter's box. Megill surrendered an RBI single to the first batter he faced to let one inherited runner score, but he quickly rebounded with a strikeout to end it. Having converted each of the Brewers' last eight traditional saves, Megill is the clear closer in Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:40 pm

    • Annihilates Houston, nabs save
Miller notched his 10th save of the season Saturday, striking out the side in a 4-1 win over the Astros.

Advice: Miller was coming off his worst appearance of the season his last time out against the Rockies, but he had no such trouble in this one. The flamethrower needed 15 pitches to dispose of the Astros in order, topping out at 102.2 mph with his fastball. Miller has struck out multiple batters in 14 of 18 outings this season. • Trevor Megill records one-out save vs. Red Sox
Trevor Megill got the final out to get a save Saturday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Megill did give up a hit, but he was able to get the final out via strikeout to procure his eighth save of 2024 and lowered his ERA to 1.93 in the process. There’s obviously loads of reasons to think he’ll continue to see save chances while Devin Williams remains out with injury. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:02 pm

    • Mason Miller strikes out side in save vs. Astros
Mason Miller struck out the side to pick up the save and help the Athletics to a 3-1 win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: How can you not be impressed with what Miller has done? The right-hander threw 15 pitches while fanning the side, and it’s nice to see after he blew the save Thursday against the Rockies while allowing five runs — three of those earned. Miller will have some limitations based on Oakland not being very good and Oakland being very careful with the right-hander, but simply put, he has as good of stuff as any reliever in baseball.
