    • Austin Riley sitting out again Tuesday vs. Cubs
Austin Riley (side) remains absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: The Braves received positive news earlier this week when an MRI revealed only left side inflammation rather than an oblique strain. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart remains day-to-day and appears likely to avoid a trip to the injured list at the moment. He should benefit from Thursday’s off-day giving him additional time to rest and recover, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him return for Friday’s series opener against the Padres. • Remains out Tuesday
Riley (side) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Atlanta received good news when an MRI revealed merely inflammation in Riley's left side rather than a strain. However, he is likely still sore and will miss a second straight start. With a scheduled off day coming Thursday, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Atlanta hold Riley out until Friday just to be safe. Zack Short is getting another start at third base Tuesday. • Dominguez (elbow) beginning rehab assignment
Jasson Dominguez (elbow) is beginning his rehab assignment with Low-A Tampa on Tuesday.

Advice: Dominguez will begin facing competition as he works his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in September. The 21-year-old will likely need to spend a couple of weeks — at least — playing minor-league games before having a chance to return to the New York lineup near the start of June. Dominguez is extremely talented, but he’s a very risky option for the 2024 season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:06 am
    • Strikes out seven in no-decision
Montgomery allowed three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Monday.

Advice: Montgomery turned in an okay outing, missing out on a quality start for the second time in five games for the Diamondbacks. He's pitched to a 4.76 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB over 28.1 innings this season. Montgomery's had a bit of trouble racking up strikeouts so far as he's had to get up to speed on the job after signing with Arizona in late March. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:16 pm
    • Gives up two runs versus Dodgers
Hicks allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out four without walking a batter over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Hicks wasn't particularly efficient Monday, throwing 56 of 93 pitches for strikes. He's failed to get past the fifth inning in all three of his starts in May after doing so in three of his first six outings of the year. The right-hander has pitched to a steady 2.44 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 39:16 K:BB through 48 innings this season. He's given up nine runs (seven earned) through 14 innings in May, albeit with less-than-ideal matchups and venues. Hicks' next start is projected to be at home versus the Rockies. • Jordan Hicks strong for six against Dodgers
Jordan Hicks pitched five innings of two-run ball before being lifted against the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Walks have been a problem for Hicks of late, but he issued none against a patient Dodgers lineup tonight. He struck out four, and he went a sixth straight start without giving a homer. His ERA stands at 2.44 after nine starts. Rotoworld Monday, 10:42 pm

    • Jordan Montgomery shaky in start against Reds
Jordan Montgomery allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings while not qualifying for a decision against the Reds on Monday.

Advice: Montgomery allowed six hits with three walks, and he was able to strike out seven. He allowed a two-run double in the second inning to Spencer Steer, and the third run came after the southpaw had left the contest on a Mike Ford single. This wasn’t close to the strong outing he had Wednesday against the Reds, but there were some good moments and a few punchouts to help. He’s now the owner of a 4.76 ERA, with a chance to lower that number against the Tigers on Sunday. Rotoworld Monday, 10:04 pm
    • Allows season-high four runs
Crawford (2-2) suffered the loss Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings against the Rays. He struck out six.

Advice: Crawford did not allow a long ball after having allowed one each over his past two starts (none over his first six outings) but did serve up three extra-base hits on his way to allowing four earned runs for the first time this season. A two-out triple in the first inning by Amed Rosario was the biggest blow while a fourth inning double by Jose Caballero set up Tampa's fourth run and ultimately served as the deciding run that sent Crawford to his second defeat. Despite the relatively subpar effort, Crawford maintains a high-quality 2.24 ERA that he'll take into his next start, tentatively slated to take place over the weekend when the Red Sox head to St. Louis for an inter-league matchup against the Cardinals. • Tucker has two hits Monday
Kyle Tucker went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the Astros’ win over the Athletics on Monday.

Advice: The double was Tucker’s eighth of the season. He has carried the Astros so far this year. Tucker’s average is up to .277 and his OPS is up to .994. He has another three games to beat up on the Athletics this week.
