Through 180 plate appearances this year, he’s sporting a .275/.315/.443 line in spite of a 56/8 K/BB ratio. The modest success, and the fact that it’s rewarded by a Rockies team willing to hit him at the top of the lineup, makes it less likely that he’ll ever truly reach his potential.       Jasson Dominguez (elbow) is beginning his rehab assignment with Low-A Tampa on Tuesday.

      Advice: Dominguez will begin facing competition as he works his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in September. The 21-year-old will likely need to spend a couple of weeks — at least — playing minor-league games before having a chance to return to the New York lineup near the start of June.       Advice: The results of Riley's MRI indicate that he'll be able to avoid a trip to the 10-day injured list, though the club will exercise caution to ensure he doesn't make the injury worse. "They'll treat him up tomorrow and see where he's at," said manager Brian Snitker. "The MRI just showing inflammation is a good thing, now it's going to be maintenance and a day-to-day thing."
