    • Giants recall Landen Roupp from Triple-A
Giants recalled RHP Landen Roupp from Triple-A sacramento.

Advice: Roupp is back and could be inline for work as a bulk option for the Giants with Spencer Bivens starting Sunday’s contest against the Dodgers. The right-hander has a 5.27 ERA in his 13 2/3 innings with San Francisco prior to being demoted at the beginning of May. Spencer Howard was designated for assignment to make room on the roster. • Officially heads to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Megill to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday,

Advice: As expected, Megill will return to the minors after he was knocked around for six earned runs over 5.1 innings in Saturday's 9-6 loss to Houston. Over his five starts in June, the right-hander turned in a 7.43 ERA and 1.74 WHIP across 23 innings. The Mets are likely to call up Christian Scott from Triple-A Syracuse later this week to replace Megill in the rotation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 am

    • Mets option Tylor Megill to Triple-A Syracuse
Mets optioned RHP Tylor Megill to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurler struggled in a no-decision against the Astros on Saturday, giving up four runs over 5 1/3 innings of work. On the season, he holds a disappointing 5.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 49/19 K/BB ratio across 39 innings over his eight starts. The Mets will utilize the roster spot to add a fresh arm to their bullpen and will then likely utilize either Christian Scott or Jose Butto to fill the void in their rotation next week against the Nationals. • Heading to Triple-A after rough start
The Mets are expected to option Megill to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Megill started Saturday's 9-6 loss to Houston, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts across 5.1 innings in a no-decision. As the Mets maneuver around Edwin Diaz's 10-game suspension, they're expected to call up a reliever to fill Megill's spot and eat innings in the coming days before having Christian Scott fill Megill's regular rotation slot. By rule, Megill will have to stay at Triple-A for 15 days, which means he likely won't be back on the active roster until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:58 pm

    • Triumphant in return
Gallen (6-4) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out seven over six shutout innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Gallen returned from a hamstring injury that cost him nearly a month and took full advantage of a soft matchup. This was the fourth time this season he's gone six innings in a start without allowing a run. He's also posted five quality starts in his last six outings, with the lone exception being the May 30 start that ended with the aforementioned hamstring injury before he could record an out. The right-hander is now at a 2.83 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 67:16 K:BB through 63.2 innings over 12 starts. Gallen threw 77 pitches (50 strikes) Saturday, so he should be good for a full workload his next time out, which is tentatively projected for a road outing at San Diego. • Megill gives up four runs in no-decision Saturday
Tylor Megill allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Megill gave up five hits, walked three and struck out six. He pitched well enough to win and looked like he was going to before the Mets bullpen blew a late lead. Megill has a 5.08 ERA on the season, but he’s pitched better than that as his xFIP is 3.92. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road next week.

    • Gallen throws six shutout innings in win vs. A’s
Zac Gallen allowed no runs in six innings and got the win in the Diamondbacks’ 3-0 victory over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Gallen gave up one hit, walked one and struck out seven. Even though the Athletics offense is nothing to write home about, Gallen was excellent in his first major league start since May 30th. Gallen has finished in the top five of the Cy Young award voting each of the last two years and appeared to have similar form in this start. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres on the road next week.

    • D-backs activate Zac Gallen for start against A’s
Diamondbacks activated RHP Zac Gallen from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Gallen finds himself the recipient of a tasty matchup on Saturday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics following a one-month absence due to a Grade 1 right hamstring strain. The 28-year-old upper-echelon fantasy contributor holds a strong 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 60/15 K/BB ratio across 57 2/3 innings (11 starts) this season. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:12 am

    • Reinstated from IL
The Diamondbacks reinstated Gallen (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Saturday versus Oakland.

Advice: Gallen was able to build up to 67 pitches while throwing bullpen sessions and sim games during his time on the injured list, and it's possible he'll be under a pitch count as he makes his first start since May 30. In a corresponding move, Brandon Hughes was optioned to Triple-A Reno. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:56 am
