    • Three RBI in loss
Rengifo went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Rengifo got the Angels on the board quickly with a two-run blast off Christian Javier in the opening frame. He later plated a third run in the fourth on a base knock. He's now tallied at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 games, which includes 13 hits and a .371 average over his last eight games. He's regularly been hitting first or second since coming back from the injured list last week and is now slashing ,316/.366/.474 with three homers, 15 RBI, 16 runs and an 8:18 BB:K in 124 plate appearances. • Ryne Nelson won’t start Wednesday for D-backs
The Diamondbacks will likely bypass Ryne Nelson and go with an opener in Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Nelson was lit up for seven runs by the Tigers last time out, putting his spot in jeopardy, but when everything was quiet over the last few days, it seemed likely that he’d remain in the rotation. Instead, the Diamondbacks could either send him down or put him in the bullpen prior to Wednesday’s game. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:46 pm

    • Punches out seven
Littell didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Boston, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk across 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Littell fared better against the Red Sox the second time around, holding them to three hits Tuesday after yielding seven hits and four runs to Boston in his last start. Though the 28-year-old did surrender a solo homer to Jarren Duran, he tied his season high in strikeouts and walked fewer than two batters for the sixth time in his last seven starts. Littell hasn't gone deeper than six innings this season but owns a 3.42 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP across 10 appearances. He's scheduled for a home start against the Athletics next Tuesday. • Luis Rengifo hits two-run homers against Astros
Luis Rengifo had a two-run homer and an RBI single versus the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Rengifo definitely wasn’t Ron Washington’s favorite player at the beginning of the year, but he’s been one of the best Angels thus far, having hit .316/.366/.474 in 124 plate appearances. Statcast thinks he’s way overachieving, given that his exit velocity numbers are significantly worse than his career marks, but things will probably even out there somewhat; his .840 OPS won’t quite hold up, but his exit velocity numbers should get better. • Javier Assad walks five, gets lifted in fifth
Javier Assad yielded three runs — two earned — in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Braves.

Advice: This really should have been worse, considering that Assad gave up two homers and walked five batters. Still, his ERA remained intact at 1.70, and though he left with the Cubs down by a run, he avoided taking what would have been his first loss in 10 starts this year. He’ll make his next start in St. Louis on Sunday. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:32 pm

    • Walk-off hit in return
Hoerner went 1-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Advice: Hoerner had a relatively unimpressive return after missing over a week with a hamstring issue, but he made up for it with a one-out, walk-off single in the 10th inning. The infielder is slashing .267/.357/.385 with two home runs, 13 RBI, 25 runs scored and five stolen bases over 185 plate appearances. Hoerner's return will likely mean less playing time for Nick Madrigal moving forward, assuming Hoerner doesn't suffer a setback with his hamstring. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:31 pm

    • Takes step back Tuesday
Assad allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and five walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Tuesday.

Advice: Assad gave up a two-run home run to Orlando Arcia in the second inning and a solo shot to Michael Harris in the fourth. The five walks were also a season high, and it was the fourth time this season Assad has issued three or more free passes. For the season, he's at a 1.70 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 46:20 K:BB through 53 innings across 10 starts. He's had little trouble with the long ball this year, so it's safe to assume he'll continue to find success in run prevention if he can keep the ball down. The right-hander is projected for a road start in St. Louis his next time out. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:28 pm

    • Collects fourth win
Marsh (4-1) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings to earn the win over the Tigers on Tuesday.

Advice: Marsh completed six innings for just the second time this year, earning his second quality start in the process. He gave up a two-run triple to Matt Vierling and an RBI single to Colt Keith as the Tigers rallied in the fourth inning, but that was all of the damage. Marsh has limited opponents to one earned run or less in five of his eight starts this season, maintaining a strong 2.72 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB over 43 innings. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Minnesota. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:15 pm

    • Improves to 9-0
Suarez (9-0) earned the win Tuesday over the Rangers, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out 10 over seven innings.

Advice: Suarez was stellar again Tuesday, holding Texas to a lone run on a Marcus Semien double in the third inning while recording a season-high 10 strikeouts. The 28-year-old southpaw has been a revelation for the Phillies this season -- his ERA is down to a sparkling 1.36 with a 0.79 WHIP and 49:9 K:BB and he boasts an MLB-high nine wins across 10 starts (66 innings). Suarez will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for this weekend in Colorado. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:12 pm
