    • Scratched from lineup
Rengifo was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game in Pittsburgh, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: He had been set to return following a two-game absence due to illness, but Fletcherrelays that Rengifo is still experiencing some symptoms of the ailment and will get another day off to recover. Brandon Drury was added to the lineup as Rengifo's replacement at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 12:15 pm

    • Luis Rengifo scratched on Monday
Luis Rengifo was scratched from the Angels lineup on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was originally penciled in at second base and hitting sixth in the order. However, he has been replaced by Brandon Drury. According to Jeff Fletcher of the SoCal News Group, Rengifo is no longer sick, so we’ll have to wait and hear the reason for him being replaced. Rotoworld Today, 12:14 pm

    • Returns to lineup
Rengifo (illness) will start at second base and bat sixth in Monday's contest in Pittsburgh, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Rengifo missed a couple games while battling an illness but feels well enough to give it a go Monday against right-hander Mitch Keller and the Pirates. He's sporting a robust .413/.481/.609 batting line with two home runs and four stolen bases over his last 14 games. Rotowire.com Today, 11:52 am

    • Sends game into extras
Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Advice: Heim knotted the game at two runs apiece with a ninth-inning home run that set the stage for Nathaniel Lowe's game-winning single in the 10th. For Heim, it was his fourth homer and first in 12 games. He's appeared in 29 of the team's first 35 games, which is a lot for a catcher whose bat has tailed off in August and September in each of the past two seasons. Rotowire.com Today, 6:11 am

    • Homers, extends hit streak
Marte went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 11-4 win over San Diego.

Advice: Marte took Matt Waldron deep with a two-run home run in the first inning, giving the Diamondbacks an early lead. It was the seventh consecutive game with a hit for Marte, who homered for the first time in 16 games. He's belted six home runs and is slashing .307/.361/.526 through 35 contests. • Garners win in return
Nelson (2-2) picked up the win over the Padres on Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings.

Advice: Nelson wasn't spectacular in his return from a trip to the injured list, but he didn't need to be after the Diamondbacks plated 11 runs through five innings. Nelson served up a two-run homer to Jackson Merrill in the second before Kyle Higashioka doubled in Ha-Seong Kim after he walked. The Padres would scratch across another run in the third before being silenced the rest of the way. Nelson was able to get up to 99 pitches and has slid into the rotation spot of Tommy Henry who was optioned to Triple-A Reno last week. Nelson owns a 5.23 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB in 20.2 innings and is slated for a tough road matchup against Baltimore his next time out. Rotowire.com Today, 4:56 am

    • Tosses six shutout frames
Assad (3-0) allowed four hits and three walks over six scoreless innings Sunday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Assad scattered baserunners throughout his start but never faced any heavy threats. He's allowed two or fewer runs in each of his first seven outings of 2024, but Sunday's performance was his first quality start since his season debut April 2. Assad dropped his season ERA to 1.66 with a 31:12 K:BB through 38 innings. He failed to factor into the decision in his previous three starts despite registering a 1.76 ERA over that span. Assad is currently in line to start in Pittsburgh next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:24 pm

    • Ryne Nelson inconsistent in first start off IL
Ryne Nelson allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings in a win over the Padres on Sunday.

Advice: It wasn’t a great start for Nelson, who posted a 15 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW. He got a lot of called strikes on his four-seam fastball, but the whiffs up in the zone were carrying him before the trip to the IL, and they just weren’t there on Sunday. There is certainly some upside in Nelson, but he has a 5.23 ERA on the season and should not be started against the Orioles next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:29 pm

    • Homers, reaches base four times
Winker went 2-for-2 with two walks, a three-run home run, a double and an additional run scored during Sunday's 11-8 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Winker entered the game in a 1-for-21 skid but broke the skid with a couple of extra-base hits, including a three-run homer off Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah that put the cap on a five-run fourth inning for the Nats. The homer was the fourth of the season for Winker, who also later added his seventh double. He's slashing .254/.372/.421 with four homers, 18 RBI, 18 runs and three stolen bases over 131 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:58 pm
