    • Lourdes Gurriel sitting Tuesday against Rangers
Lourdes Gurriel is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: Gurriel went just 1-for-10 in the three-game series against the Marlins, and he’s hitting .203 with a .582 OPS thus far in the month of May. He’ll take a seat with Pavin Smith getting the start in right field while hitting fifth. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Taking seat Tuesday
Gurriel is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Rangers.

Advice: It's a routine day off for Gurriel, who is batting just .203/.241/.291 with one home run so far in May. The Diamondbacks will utilize Jake McCarthy and Pavin Smith as their corner outfielders Tuesday. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Makes two-inning rehab start
Wicks (forearm) struck out three and gave up two hits and no walks over two scoreless innings in his rehab start Friday with Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: Wicks threw 33 pitches (22 strikes) in the outing. The Cubs haven't announced the next step for Wicks following Friday's appearance, but he'll presumably need at least one more rehab start to get stretched out some more before Chicago is comfortable bringing him back from the 15-day injured list and inserting him into the rotation. Ben Brown is currently filling in for Wicks as the Cubs' No. 5 starter, with his second turn through the rotation set to come Tuesday in Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Today, 9:19 am

    • Swipes seventh bag Monday
Winker went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over Atlanta.

Advice: After being held out of Sunday's starting nine due to mild cramping in his quadriceps, Winker looked fully healthy Monday as he stole his seventh bag of the year. The 30-year-old was mired in a slump through the first half of May, but he appears to be heating up again -- over his last nine games, he's batting .296 (8-for-27) with a double, two homers, three steals, five RBI and six runs. • Earns fifth save
Beeks allowed a run on two hits while striking out two and earning a save in Monday's 8-6 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Beeks closed out the victory despite giving up a run for the fourth straight appearance. During that span, his ERA has jumped from 2.11 to 3.20 through 25.1 frames. It was the first time he converted a save since May 13 and he's now five for eight in save chances this season. Beeks is seemingly still the main option to close games for Colorado, though his job is far from secure. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 pm
    • Jalen Beeks gives up run in fourth straight outing
Jalen Beeks recorded his fifth save despite giving up a run in the ninth Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: Beeks gave up a double to Tyler Freeman and a single to Andrés Giménez before finishing off the Guardians. It’s the fourth straight outing in which Beeks has allowed a run, and his stint as the Rockies’ closer might not last much longer. Victor Vodnik could be next in line in Colorado. • Surrenders five runs in loss
Marsh (4-2) took the loss Monday against Minnesota, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Marsh was done in by two swings of the bat -- a Jose Miranda two-run homer in the third and a Trevor Larnach three-run blast in the fifth. The Kansas City right-hander has been productive since returning from an elbow injury May 10, firing a 3.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB in 23.1 innings. Overall, his ERA now sits at 3.24 with a 43:14 K:BB over 50 innings. Marsh is slated to face the Padres at home in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:22 pm
    • Alec Marsh coughs up two homers in loss to Twins
Alec Marsh surrendered five runs over seven innings on Monday in a loss to the Twins.

Advice: The surface stats certainly won’t reflect it, but Marsh held his own on Monday afternoon at Target Field as he was ultimately burned by a pair of tape-measure homers as Jose Miranda got him for a two-run bomb in the third inning before Trevor Larnach tattooed a three-run blast a couple frames later. He struck out seven and only issued a pair of walks, completing seven frames to spare Kansas City’s bullpen. It was just the second time this season in nine starts that he’s allowed four earned runs or more. He’s notched at least seven strikeouts in three of his last four outings since May 10. The 26-year-old righty will carry a solid 3.24 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 43/14 K/BB ratio across 50 innings (nine starts) into a home outing on Saturday against the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:38 pm
    • Justin Turner on the bench again
Justin Turner is on the bench for Monday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner got a day off on Sunday, but he remains out of the lineup on Monday with Daniel Vogelbach starting at designated hitter again. The 39-year-old is slashing just .222/.301/.359 in 173 plate appearances in 2024 with four home runs and 18 RBI. It’s possible that the Blue Jays will look to get at-bats for other players in his place, and fantasy managers can certainly look to do the same with a hot bat on the waiver wire.
