    • Jalen Beeks gets save against Royals on Friday
Jalen Beeks picked up a save after throwing a scoreless inning against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Beeks gave up a couple of hits, but the 30-year-old veteran was able to work around those runners to pick up his eighth save. He should continue to see the overwhelming majority of save chances in Colorado as long as he’s on the roster, but there’s obviously better fantasy options out there. • Knocks 10th homer
Higashioka went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 10-8 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Higashioka has launched five of his 10 homers this season over his last nine games. He went deep in the sixth inning of this contest to stretch the Padres' lead to 7-2. The catcher is at a .220/.254/.541 slash line with 25 RBI, 15 runs scored, three doubles and a triple over 114 plate appearances. Higashioka's playing time is likely to decrease with Luis Campusano (thumb) getting activated from the injured list Friday, but the former played well enough in the latter's absence to justify a timeshare role behind the dish. • Ketel Marte day-to-day with back tightness
Ketel Marte is day-to-day after leaving Friday’s game against the Padres with back tightness.

Advice: If he can’t play Saturday, then the Diamondbacks will use Kevin Newman at second base, since they sent down their best alternative, Blaze Alexander, earlier this week. The 30-year-old secured his second All-Star Game selection earlier this week and will start at second base for the senior circuit in the Midsummer Classic. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:19 pm

    • Nursing tight back
Marte exited Friday's game against the Padres due to lower-back tightness, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Marte had gone 0-for-4 during Friday's loss before Randal Grichuk pinch hit for him in the ninth inning, and manager Torey Lovullo confirmed after the game that Marte's removal was due to a lingering back issue that has been bothering him for a while. He won't require any imaging, however, and the team is viewing him as day-to-day. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:09 pm

    • Blows save Friday
Finnegan blew a save against the Cardinals on Friday, allowing two hits and one run in the ninth inning.

Advice: Finnegan was summoned to protect a 5-4 lead in the ninth inning but surrendered a solo home run to Willson Contreras. The closer had thrown five straight scoreless appearances but left a 2-2 fastball down the middle for his fourth blown save of the season. On the year, he has secured 23 saves with a 2.17 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB over 37.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 pm

    • Snags eighth save
Beeks earned the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Royals, pitching an inning with one strikeout and allowing two hits.

Advice: The southpaw reliever entered in the ninth and looked to be in danger after he allowed two straight singles to lead off the frame. However, Beeks recovered by retiring the next three batters to work out of the jam, securing his 13th career save. The 30-year-old has collected the last two Colorado saves and produced four straight outings without allowing an earned run over 5.1 innings. He now sports a 4.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 34:17 K:BB across 44 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:02 pm

    • Aaron Nola strikes out eight in win
Aaron Nola allowed three earned runs across six innings in a win Friday against the Braves. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

Advice: Nola was fantastic in this one. His 21 swings-and-misses were the most he’s forced in a game this season and first time he’s hit that total since June 5th of last year. His vaunted knuckle curve stymied the Braves all night and Nola looked dominant despite the three runs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:47 pm

    • Delivers quality start
Nola (10-4) yielded three runs on five hits over six innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over Atlanta.

Advice: Nola got through three shutout frames before coughing up a two-run shot to Austin Riley in the fourth inning. Ozzie Albies then knocked a solo homer in the sixth. It was the first time that Nola gave up multiple home runs since May 31, and he allowed just three in the entire month of June. He forced a season-high 21 swinging strikes Friday, with 10 coming on the knuckle curve. Nola has delivered a quality start in nine of his last 10 outings, including in four straight. During that 10-start stretch, the veteran righty has posted a 3.34 ERA while going 6-2. Nola will carry a 3.48 ERA into his next outing, which is currently lined up to be at home against the Dodgers. • Kyle Finnegan blows save against Cardinals
Kyle Finnegan allowed one earned run on two hits in the ninth inning on Friday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Willson Contreras took Finnegan deep to tie this game in the ninth inning. He’s been remarkably consistent throughout the season, but the Nationals haven’t provided him with many save opportunities lately and he’s now blown two of his last four dating back to June 22nd.
