    • Acuña hits game-tying homer, but Atlanta falls to LAD
Ronald Acuña hit a solo homer while going 2-for-5 in an extra-inning loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Acuña Jr. hasn’t shown a ton of power in the early portion of the season, but he came through in a big way with a game-tying homer in the eighth off Daniel Hudson in the eighth. That’s just the second roundtripper of the season for the reigning MVP, but it’s hard to fathom the power isn’t going to come from a player that swatted 41 homers in 2023. • Lands on injured list
The Twins placed Buxton on the 10-day injured list Friday with right knee inflammation, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: The MRI on his right knee didn't show any structural damage, and GM Derek Falvey indicated Buxton may only require a minimum-length stay on the injured list. However, given the 30-year-old's injury history, there's hardly a guarantee this absence is a brief one. Austin Martin is joining the Twins in a corresponding move. • Byron Buxton (knee) lands on 10-day injured list
Twins placed OF Byron Buxton on the 10-day injured list with right knee inflammation.

Advice: The Twins haven’t commented publicly on the results of Buxton’s MRI exam yet, but the fact that they’re terming the injury as only inflammation and not anything structural is certainly encouraging. Twins’ manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters that he’s hopeful Buxton will be able to return in 10-14 days, but that seems a bit optimistic given Buxton’s lengthy injury history. Austin Martin was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move to take his place on the active roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:41 pm

    • Not in Friday's lineup
Buxton (knee) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Advice: Buxton was sent for an MRI after being lifted from Wednesday's contest due to an issue with his right knee, so it's not a major surprise he's not starting Friday. It remains to be seen if the 30-year-old will require a trip to the injured list with the MRI results not yet known, but the injury is a concerning development given it's the same knee in which he's undergone multiple surgeries. • Out of lineup again Friday
Chourio is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: It's the first time this season that he's been held out of the lineup in consecutive games. Since April 16, Chourio is slashing just .140/.196/.233 while striking out at a 38.3 percent rate. Jake Bauers and Sal Frelick are in the corner outfield spots for Milwaukee on Friday. • Hits bench Thursday
Wade is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Wade went 0-for-6 with three walks and an RBI while starting at first base in each of the last three games, but he'll get a day off as the Giants and Red Sox wrap up their series with an afternoon contest. Wilmer Flores will join the San Francisco infield as a replacement for Wade. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:12 am

    • Getting MRI on knee
Buxton will receive an MRI on his right knee after being removed from Wednesday's 10-5 win over the White Sox, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: Buxton hurt his knee while attempting to steal a base during the second inning of Wednesday's victory. The Twins didn't have an update on his status immediately after the game, but manager Rocco Baldelli said Buxton would receive an MRI, adding that the team would use its day off Thursday to assess the situation. A clearer picture regarding the 30-year-old's return timeline will likely become available prior to Friday's game against Boston. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:05 pm

    • Byron Buxton (knee) will undergo MRI
Byron Buxton will undergo an MRI exam on his injured right knee after leaving Wednesday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: Buxton pulled up on a stolen base attempt during the game and had to be helped off the field. It looks likely that the oft-injured outfielder is heading to the injured list once again, but the Twins will wait and see what the imaging shows before addressing the situation publicly. • Dealing with knee injury
Buxton was removed in the second inning of Wednesday's game against the White Sox was due to right knee soreness, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Buxton tweaked his knee on a stolen-base attempt in the top of the second inning and was removed in the bottom half of the frame. The injury is to the same knee in which he underwent surgery twice, with the most recent operation occurring last October. It's not clear at this point how big of a setback Buxton might be dealing with, but the Twins could offer more detail on his condition after the game. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:44 pm
