      Advice: The third baseman erupted out of a slump to homer in three straight games against Tampa Bay, racking up six hits and eight RBI in the three-games weekend series. Even with the power surge, Riley has only six home runs and 28 RBI on the season, but he's topped 30 homers and 90 RBI in each of the past three seasons.       Advice: Steer gave the Reds a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when he belted his eighth home run of the season. He's been quiet of late, having entered the contest on a 4-for-31 (.129) run with one RBI over the previous nine games. Despite the drop in production, Steer leads Cincinnati with 42 RBI.       Trevino went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Red Sox.

      Advice: Trevino is tapping into his power lately with three homers over the last five games. The catcher is up to eight long balls on the year while slashing a strong .271/.317/.451 through 47 contests.       Advice: Taillon scattered baserunners throughout, completing only a single 1-2-3 inning, but was able to limit the damage with the only runs coming on a second-inning two-run homer by Pedro Pages. However, Taillon was given no run support and left the game after six still facing that same two-run deficit. It was the second consecutive quality start for Taillon, who has allowed just two runs in 12 innings over those two starts after having allowed 14 runs over 21.1 innings in his previous four. He'll look to keep things rolling the next time he toes the rubber, which is likely to be next weekend when the Mets roll into the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.       Advice: Lively pitched for the first time in eight days after leaving his most recent start with tightness after 65 pitches. He surrendered a two-run home run to Ernie Clement in the second inning, his first home run allowed since May 26. The four earned runs are a season worst for the 32-year-old, who had notched wins in each of his previous five starts. Despite Sunday's rough outing, Lively has pitched well for Cleveland this season, logging a 3.02 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and a 52:18 K:BB across 59.2 innings pitched.     • Dealing with rotator cuff strain
      Yamamoto was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain Sunday following an MRI, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Yamamoto was lifted after two innings in his start during Saturday's win over the Royals with what the Dodgers had termed as right tricep tightness. As expected, Yamamoto was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday, but the Dodgers didn't provide an updated diagnosis on his injury until after the results of his MRI were read. Manager Dave Roberts said that while the injury is not "season ending," Yamamoto Is "not going to throw for a couple of weeks, then we'll see where we go from there." Fortunately for the Dodgers, they'll be getting some reinforcement to their rotation in the form of right-hander Bobby Miller (shoulder), who is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list during the upcoming week. After he was roughed up for five runs over one inning in his MLB debut March 21 against the Padres in Seoul, South Korea, Yamamoto had been as good as advertised over his subsequent 13 starts, ringing up a 6-1 record, 2.34 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 82:16 K:BB over 73 innings.       Blue Jays manager John Schneider said after Sunday's 7-6 win over the Guardians that Garcia was removed from the contest in the ninth inning with right elbow soreness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. "We'll see how he is and know more later [Sunday or Monday]."

      Advice: Called upon for the save chance with the Blue Jays holding a 7-4 lead entering the top of the ninth, Garcia lacked his usual command in the relief appearance. After inducing a leadoff popout from Kyle Manzardo, Garcia surrendered a base hit to Daniel Schneemann before serving up a two-run home run to Brayan Rocchio. He then got Bo Naylor to foul out before getting lifted from the game after serving up back-to-back singles to Steven Kwan and Tyler Freeman. Nate Pearson came on with two outs and runners on the corners to put out the fire and enable Garcia to earn his 10th hold of the season, but Garcia's health now becomes the greater concern. If Garcia's elbow issue is serious enough for him to join Jordan Romano (elbow) on the injured list, the Blue Jays could turn to Pearson, Chad Green and Tim Mayza to handle any future save chances that may arise.
