    • Corbin Carroll doubles twice in loss to White Sox
Corbin Carroll hit two doubles while scoring twice in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Carroll was one of the few hitters who had any success against Erick Fedde and the White Sox bullpen, and he scored the only two runs in the contest for the D-Backs. It’s nice to see some extra-base hits from the 23-year-old, as he had picked up just three of them this month prior to Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm
    • Goes deep in win
Vierling went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 13-5 win over the Astros.

Advice: Vierling has homered twice over his last four contests, though both were solo shots that represent his only RBI since May 29. The outfielder is batting a modest .196 (10-for-51) over 12 contests in June, though he's still often hitting in the top third of the Tigers' lineup. Vierling is at a .266/.305/.468 slash line with nine homers, 30 RBI, 30 runs scored, nine doubles, four triples and no stolen bases through 63 games this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 pm

    • Twins-Athletics game postponed
Ober and the Twins won't play Saturday against the Athletics after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ober will now have his start pushed back a day after Saturday's contest was rained out. He'll toe the rubber for one of the games during the team's Father's Day split doubleheader with Oakland on Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:01 am
    • Saturday’s A’s vs. Twins game postponed (rain)
Saturday’s game between the Athletics and Twins has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: Rain in the forecast throughout the afternoon and evening in Minnesota made this one an easy call. It’ll be made up as a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon instead. Saturday’s scheduled starters -- Joey Estes and Bailey Ober -- will presumably be pushed back to take the ball at some point during Sunday’s twin bill at Target Field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:49 am
    • Swipes two bags in win
Volpe went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases Friday in an 8-1 victory versus the Red Sox.

Advice: Volpe made the most of his fifth-inning single, as he proceeded to steal both second and third base before coming home on an Alex Verdugo double. The second-year shortstop is up to 15 thefts (on 18 attempts) this season, tied for 13th in the league. Volpe's power is down in comparison to his rookie campaign, but he's reduced his strikeout rate from 27.8 percent to 21.3 percent, which has helped produce a much-improved .271/.329/.414 slash line. • Collects seventh win
Allen (7-3) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over five-plus innings in a 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays. He struck out three.

Advice: The lefty wasn't exactly efficient, tossing 47 of 84 pitches for strikes, but he blanked Toronto for five frames before back-to-back hits to lead off the sixth brought home Toronto's only run and chased Allen from the game. The 25-year-old has given up three runs or fewer in five of his last six outings, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB in 30.1 innings over that stretch. He'll look to build on this performance in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:17 am

    • Lifted for pinch runner
Seager returned to the lineup and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Friday's 3-2 loss to Seattle.

Advice: Seager was back in the lineup as the DH after being scratched Thursday due to ongoing issues with his hamstring. The one time he did reach base Friday -- a two-out, eighth-inning walk -- he was lifted for a pinch runner. That likely means manager Bruce Bochy didn't want Seager to risk aggravating his injury while trying to score a tying run, so the manager went with the speedier Travis Jankowski. For Seager, the walk extended his on-base streak to 30 games (.415 OBP). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:58 am

    • Corey Seager hitless on Friday in return to lineup
Corey Seager (hamstring) went 0-for-3 on Friday in his return to the lineup.

Advice: Seager went 0-for-3 before being lifted for a pinch-runner in the late stages of Friday’s series opener against the Mariners. The Rangers have tried to be cautious with their 30-year-old superstar over the last few days as he attempts to play through a minor left hamstring issue. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a few extra maintenance days off moving forward in an effort to prevent the lingering issue from getting worse. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:07 am

    • Falls to Yankees
Bello (6-4) took the loss Friday against the Yankees, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Bello surrendered a two-run homer to Alex Verdugo in the first inning before the Yankees tacked on two more runs in the fifth. It's been a tough stretch for the 25-year-old, who's struggled to a 7.04 ERA over his last six starts. Bello's ERA sits at 5.00 on the season with a 1.40 WHIP and 56:24 K:BB across 63 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Toronto. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:51 pm
