    • Continues piping hot June
Santana went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, double and an additional run scored Thursday against the Rays.

Advice: Santana extended his modest hit streak to six games and posted his second three-hit game of the season while blasting his 12th home run Thursday. The 38-year-old has found the fountain of youth in June, going 20-for-55 (.364) with four homers, five doubles, 15 RBI, 10 runs and a couple of steals through 16 games this month. • Carlos Santana homers, gets three hits in loss
Carlos Santana went 3-for-5 with a homer in a loss to the Rays on Thursday in extra-innings.

Advice: Santana’s homer made it 6-3 in the ninth, and Minnesota scored three more runs to take the game into extras before falling. The 38-year-old has gone deep 12 times, and while he hasn’t helped much in the average category (.247), he’s been a solid power-producer; particularly since scuffling over the first three weeks. • Josh Bell has two hits in win
Josh Bell went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: Bell came into today just 12-for-52 (.231) in June after a really solid month of May that saw him hit .311 in 27 games. The veteran doesn’t have a tremendous stat line on the season, but he does have seven home runs and 32 RBI while striking out just 18 percent of the time. He remains one of the top first baseman on the trade block and could see a real boost in value if he finds himself in a better lineup. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:53 pm

    • Idle Tuesday
Santana is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Santana will get the day off Tuesday after making five consecutive starts at first base. Jose Miranda will fill in for Santana at first and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:27 pm

    • Homer, steal in day game
Santana went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a stolen base in a 6-2 win over the Athletics in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader.

Advice: Santana also went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in the nightcap. The first baseman is batting .326 (15-for-46) with three homers and two steals over 13 contests in June, a stretch that's helped him claim a starting role at first base since Alex Kirilloff was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul. Santana is at a .235/.316/.425 slash line with 11 homers, 36 RBI, 26 runs scored and two steals through 66 games this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:45 pm

    • Yainer Diaz (finger) returns to action on Friday
Yainer Diaz (finger) returned to the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Tigers.

Advice: It’s the first time that the 25-year-old backstop has been in the lineup since he took a foul tip off of his finger during Sunday’s game. He’ll serve as the team’s designated hitter and bat fifth against tough left-hander Tarik Skubal while Victor Caratini does the catching for the Astros and will bat eighth. Rotoworld Friday, 1:28 pm

    • Returning to lineup
Diaz (finger) is batting fifth and is the designated hitter for Friday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Diaz missed three straight games with a right index finger injury, but he'll be back in action Friday. Considering his injury impacts his throwing and accuracy, Diaz could require a few more games at DH before working behind the dish. The 25-year-old had a six-game hit streak prior to being injured with four homers during that stretch. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:20 pm

    • Expected back Friday
Astros manager Joe Espada expects Diaz (finger) to be available to return to the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Diaz will miss a third straight start Wednesday in San Francisco due to a sore right index finger, but Espada indicated the catcher is nearly recovered and will be available off the bench. Espada also noted that Diaz's finger issue primarily affects his throwing and accuracy, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic, so it's possible that Diaz could return to the lineup as a designated hitter initially. • Yainer Diaz (finger) likely to start Friday
Yainer Diaz, who has been dealing with a finger contusion, could rejoin the Astros lineup on Friday, manager Joe Espada said.

Advice: Diaz is available if needed today, but the Astros might prefer not to use him. Victor Caratini is getting the start behind the plate. Rotoworld Wednesday, 11:22 am
