• Blue Jays and Red Sox suspended due to rain
Wednesday’s game between the Blue Jays and Red Sox in Boston was suspended due to rain.

Advice: There hadn’t been any rain in the forecast, but a storm popped up early in the second inning and washed out any chances of the two sides getting this game in. The game will resume on August 26 in the top half of the second inning, with the Blue Jays having a runner at first base with one out. Unfortunately for this week, both Kutter Crawford and Yariel Rodriguez won’t be able to deliver anything for fantasy managers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:00 pm

  • Drawing another start
Knack is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Giants in San Francisco, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Due to an off days Thursday and next Monday, the Dodgers could have gotten by with a four-man rotation until next weekend, but Knack will earn another turn as Los Angeles' No. 5 starter coming off a solid showing in his return to the big club last week. After being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City last Friday, Knack tossed five scoreless innings while taking a no-decision against the Angels. Knack's stay in the rotation will likely last as long as Walker Buehler (hip) is on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:49 pm

  • Swats 11th homer
McCutchen went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: His fifth-inning shot off Graham Ashcraft gave the 37-year-old designated hitter his third homer in the last 12 games, and his 11th of the campaign. McCutchen only slugged 12 home runs in 112 games last year and hasn't reached 20 long balls in a season since 2021, but it appears he still has some pop left in the tank. On the season, he's slashing .238/.338/.405 over 67 contests with 24 RBI and 42 runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:21 pm
  • Walks four in win
Lopez (6-2) allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five over five innings to earn the win in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Advice: By his lofty standards this season, this wasn't a great performance for Lopez, but it was still enough for his third straight win. He hadn't allowed a run over his last two starts, and he's walked multiple batters just twice in his last seven outings. The right-hander is now at a 1.70 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 81:27 K:BB through 79.1 innings over 14 starts in 2024. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Giants. • Reynaldo López holds Cardinals to two runs in win
Reynaldo López defeated the Cardinals by allowing two runs in five innings in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: López certainly wasn’t at his sharpest today, but the Cardinals came away with just one run each time they loaded the bases against him. The Braves had bullpen help ready to go the latter time, when Brendon Donovan was up with two outs in the fifth. Donovan went on to hit a sharp liner, but it was right at Jarred Kelenic in center, keeping the Braves’ lead intact. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:45 pm

  • Andrew McCutchen hits two-run homer to sink Reds
Andrew McCutchen belted a two-run homer on Wednesday, lifting the Pirates to a 6-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: McCutchen gave Pittsburgh a commanding three-run advantage, which they never relinquished, courtesy of a fifth-inning tater off Reds starter Graham Ashcraft. It was his lone hit in five at-bats in the contest, but it was a big difference-maker. McCutchen’s halcyon days as a game-changing five-category impact fantasy contributor are long in the past, but he’s more than held his own at 37 years old this season coming off last year’s major Achilles injury. He’s up to 11 homers and has also chipped in a pair of stolen bases as well. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:44 pm
  • Connor Wong (paternity) expected back on Friday
Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Connor Wong is expected to return from the paternity list on Friday.

Advice: The hard-hitting backstop missed the first half of the week to attend the birth of his child, but expect him to be right back behind the dish for Friday’s series opener against the Padres. The 28-year-old backstop has been a force at the plate this season, slashing .330/.390/.480 with seven homers, 29 RBI and three stolen bases in 223 plate appearances. • Sitting out Wednesday
Massey is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Marlins.

Advice: Massey started the first two games of the series at designated hitter upon his activation from the 10-day injured list, but he will begin the Wednesday afternoon tilt on the bench. Vinnie Pasquantino will serve as the Royals' DH on Wednesday while Salvador Perez gets a start at first base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 am

  • Pilfers 14th bag in win
Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Royals.

Advice: Despite the sparse stat line, Chisholm played a key role in the victory -- he smashed an infield single back at Will Smith in the seventh inning, and Nick Gordon came home with the winning run on the southpaw's throwing error. Chisholm has had a productive June so far, slashing .286/.338/.414 through 21 contests with two of his 10 homers and three of his 14 steals on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:05 am
