• Sean Manaea to start Friday against Marlins
The Mets will have Sean Manaea start Friday versus the Marlins, but they’ve yet to announce the rest of the rotation.

Advice: It would be Luis Severino’s turn on Friday, but the Mets are apparently sneaking in some extra rest for him. If everything goes as planned, they’ll soon utilize a six-man rotation following Kodai Senga’s return. Rotoworld Today, 9:32 am

  • Mason Miller whiffs two in All-Star Game outing
Mason Miller recorded a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Miller’s flawless frame also included an eye-popping strikeout of Shohei Ohtani on a nasty 89 mph slider on the heels of a 101.8 mph fastball. He also delivered a sizzling 103.6 mph fastball, the fastest pitch in All-Star Game history in the Statcast era, prior to striking out Trea Turner. Fantasy managers are looking at arguably the best closer in baseball right now. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty talked earlier this week about potentially returning to the starting rotation in the future, which would be a pretty significant development for his fantasy appeal. • Corbin Burnes to start All-Star Game
Corbin Burnes will start for the American League in the All-Star Game.

Advice: We’re guessing he’ll just go one, but Burnes was the last pitcher to throw more than one inning in the All-Star Game; he worked the second and third behind Max Scherzer for the NL In 2021, giving up two runs and taking the loss. Paul Skenes was already announced as the NL starter. Rotoworld Monday, 1:09 pm

  • Swipes bag Sunday
Gimenez went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Rays.

Advice: Gimenez went 18 games without a steal, though his chances were a bit limited since he got on base at a .275 clip in that span. The second baseman is still seeing most of the playing time at the keystone, though he's regularly batted sixth for nearly three weeks after often hitting second. Gimenez has 15 steals in 18 attempts, five home runs, 45 RBI, 43 runs scored and a .252/.304/.339 slash line through 89 contests this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:05 pm

  • Slugs pair of homers
Tovar went 3-for-4 with two two-run home runs during Sunday's 8-5 win over the Mets.

Advice: Tovar chipped in two of the Rockies' six long balls Sunday, launching two-run homers off Jose Quintana in the first inning and Adrian Houser in the seventh. After going hitless in 28 at-bats to start July, Tovar is 11-for-25 since, with three doubles, five RBI and four runs scored. Despite the cold spell, the 22-year-old is slashing .274/.302/.462 with 14 home runs, 46 runs, 42 RBI and four stolen bases at the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:25 pm

  • Collects three hits, another SB
Robert went 3-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base during Sunday's 9-4 loss to Pittsburgh.

Advice: Despite reaching safely in all five plate appearances, Robert failed to score or drive in a run. However, he swiped his 11th base of 2024, seven of which have come in Robert's last nine games. The 26-year-old enters the All-Star Break with an .804 OPS, 11 home runs, 23 runs and 23 RBI across 179 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:18 pm

  • Wins third straight start
Taillon (7-4) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 5.2 innings to earn the win Sunday over the Cardinals.

Advice: Taillon came an out shy of his seventh straight quality start, but he was still able to capture his third win in a row. He's also given up a home run in six straight starts, as Alec Burleson tagged him for a solo shot in the sixth inning. Taillon is now at a 3.10 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 75:18 K:BB through 93 innings over 16 starts this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:45 pm

  • Luis Robert Jr. on base five times in loss
Luis Robert Jr. went 3-for-3 with two walks on Sunday against the Pirates.

Advice: Robert did what he could for the White Sox on Sunday with three hard-hit balls that all turned into singles along with two walks. The walks are especially interesting: this was the fourth time Robert has walked twice in a game since returning from injury. He only walked twice in a single game three times all of last season. In what’s been a “bad” season, Robert’s OPS is up to .804 in 43 games played. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:34 pm

  • Taillon survives in win over Cardinals
Jameson Taillon allowed three runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

Advice: Taillon allowed just two extra-base hits but nine hard-hit baseballs on the day. He posted an underwhelming 13 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW on the day, but will certainly take the win. The veteran has a solid 3.10 ERA on the season and could be an attractive name at the trade deadline. He’s a risky streamer against the Diamondbacks on Sunday after the All-Star break, but he’s pitching well enough to take the gamble. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:01 pm
