• Shohei Ohtani swipes two bags in loss to Brewers
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-5 and stole a pair of bases as the Dodgers fell to the Brewers on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Advice: Ohtani smacked a one-out single off of Dallas Keuchel in the third inning then proceeded to swipe second and third base before getting stranded there. He has now eclipsed the 20-steal plateau for the third time in his career and has already matched his total from the 2023 season. The 30-year-old superstar is slashing .314/.399/.637 with 28 homers, 65 RBI and 20 stolen bases through his first 88 games with the Dodgers. Rotoworld Today, 4:08 pm

  • Gets walked off Sunday
Hader (3-5) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, allowing a solo home run without recording an out.

Advice: Hader entered with the game tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth. He served up a solo shot to Christian Vazquez, which gave the Twins the walk-off win. This is the fourth time in six outings that Hader has given up a run -- all of which have been on homers -- though he hasn't taken a blown save since April 2. He's at a 4.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB through 39 innings while converting 15 of 16 save chances this season. Since his missteps have rarely resulted in trouble so far, Hader's security as the Astros' closer remains high, but his recent struggles with the long ball are reminiscent of his awful second half of 2022, which is at least worth keeping an eye on for fantasy purposes. • Handed loss Sunday
Soriano (4-7) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Cubs.

Advice: Soriano gave up two runs in the third inning and another in the fifth, and the Angels mustered just three hits to give him little support. He's allowed seven runs over nine innings across two starts since he returned from an abdominal infection. The right-hander is now at a 3.87 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 67:30 K:BB through 81.1 innings over 16 appearances (14 starts). After stretching out to 73 pitches Sunday, Soriano should be able to handle close to a full workload in his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Mariners. • Josh Hader blows save, takes 5th loss of season
Josh Hader allowed one run on one hit without recording an out in a loss to the Twins on Sunday.

Advice: Hader was brought into a tie game and allowed a game-winning home run to Christian Vazquez. Hader now has a 4.15 ERA to go along with 15 saves on the season. It’s unlikely that Houston will give him competition for the closer’s role, but it hasn’t been a great first season in Houston for the left-hander who now has two blown saves and five losses on the year. • José Soriano gives up three runs in loss to Cubs
José Soriano lost to the Cubs after allowing three runs in five innings Sunday.

Advice: Soriano settled for four missed swings and three strikeouts today, but only four of the 17 balls in play against him were hit hard. While his two starts since coming off the IL haven’t gone as hoped, his velocity and movement seem fine. He’ll face the Mariners in his final start before the break. Rotoworld Today, 2:12 pm

  • Roughed up in loss
Mercado (1-1) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta. He allowed five runs on five hits, three walks and a strikeout over 1.2 innings.

Advice: Mercado was given another start after a solid outing against the Cubs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the rookie right-hander was chased early on Sunday after allowing three homers in the second inning. It was the shortest outing by a Phillies starter this season. With Taijuan Walker (finger) and Spencer Turnbull (lat) both out through the All-Star break, Mercado should be given more opportunities to gain valuable experience. Rotowire.com Today, 1:18 pm

  • Michael Mercado blown up by Braves
Michael Mercado allowed five earned runs in just 1 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Braves. He also walked three batters and struck out just one.

Advice: Mercado just could not follow up his fantastic first start. He walked three batters in the first inning and was clearly being careful with the top of the Braves’ lineup. Then, they flipped the order over in the second inning and it was open season. Mercado was mercifully pulled after Matt Olson took him deep for Atlanta’s third home run of the inning. This was a start to flush and get rid of. Rotoworld Today, 1:16 pm

  • Remaining on bench Sunday
Marte (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Marte was removed from Friday's contest due to lower-back tightness and will sit Sunday for the second consecutive game. The 30-year-old was reportedly available off the bench Saturday but didn't see the field, so he'll presumably be available again Sunday. Kevin Newman is manning the keystone in place of Marte. • Not in Sunday's lineup
Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: The 33-year-old started all seven games since he returned from the injured list last weekend, though he's still experienced a bit of tightness in his calf since being activated and hasn't pushed himself while running the bases. There's been no report that Diaz has further aggravated the injury, so his absence from the lineup Sunday is likely just a maintenance day. Jacob Stallings is receiving a turn behind the plate in the series finale. Rotowire.com Today, 11:47 am
