• Jose Miranda hits game-tying homer in ninth
Jose Miranda blasted a three-run homer to tie the game in the ninth against the Rays.

Advice: With the Twins trailing 6-3 and two outs and two on in the ninth, Miranda came up huge with a three-run blast off Pete Fairbanks to send the game to extra innings. Unfortunately for Miranda and the Twins, they would still fall in the 10th. Miranda also hit a single, and the 25-year-old has hit a very respectable .280/.317/.477 over the first 74 games of 2024. • Carlos Santana homers, gets three hits in loss
Carlos Santana went 3-for-5 with a homer in a loss to the Rays on Thursday in extra-innings.

Advice: Santana’s homer made it 6-3 in the ninth, and Minnesota scored three more runs to take the game into extras before falling. The 38-year-old has gone deep 12 times, and while he hasn’t helped much in the average category (.247), he’s been a solid power-producer; particularly since scuffling over the first three weeks. • Simeon Woods Richardson limits Rays to two runs
Simeon Woods Richardson held the Rays to just two runs in his six innings of work, but he didn’t factor into the decision Thursday.

Advice: The 23-year-old right-hander struck out six while walking two and allowing four hits. Woods Richardson struggled in his previous outing against the A’s while allowing four runs in four innings, but this was much more like the version we’ve seen for the majority of 2024. Woods Richardson looks legit, and he’ll have another chance to do so against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm
  • Will Brennan homers twice in win over Mariners
Will Brennan homered twice while going 3-for-4 in a 6-3 win for the Guardians over the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Brennan now has eight homers on the season. The first tied the game at 2-2 in the second inning off Luis Castillo, and he extended Cleveland’s lead to 6-3 with his blast off Trent Thornton. The 26-year-old’s platoon role makes it hard to justify him as a fantasy option, but he’s a sneaky-good daily play when he is on the field against righties. Rotoworld Today, 12:40 pm

  • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Rangers outrighted Tinoco to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Advice: Tinoco has the option to decline the assignment and become a free agent if he wants. If he does choose to stick around, he'll provide relief depth at Round Rock. Rotowire.com Today, 11:59 am
  • Getting day off
Miranda is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Miranda will head to the bench Wednesday, but he should have a relatively firm grasp on a near-everyday role for the Twins after Minnesota recently optioned Alex Kirilloff (back) to the minors before reversing the transaction and placing him on the 10-day injured list. The 26-year-old has earned his way into steadier playing time by maintaining an .875 OPS through his first 15 games of June. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:43 pm

  • Smacks homer Tuesday
Donovan went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Donovan has gone 15-for-51 (.294) over his last 13 games, adding two homers and seven RBI in that span. The 27-year-old got a rare start at third base Tuesday with Nolan Arenado taking a day off, though Donovan has found consistent playing time between left field and second base for much of the year. He's at a .247/.319/.380 slash line with six homers, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored and one stolen base over 67 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 am

  • Pops second homer
Bethancourt went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Advice: The veteran catcher launched a solo shot off Lance Lynn in the sixth inning, Bethancourt's second homer of the season. The hits were his first since May 27, and the 32-year-old has offered little at the plate as the backup to Nick Fortes, slashing a woeful .159/.198/.268 on the year in 88 plate appearances. • Logs three hits in loss
Brennan went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Brennan has three multi-hit efforts over his last four games. The outfielder has been limited to a strong-side platoon role this season, though he's been little more than average for much of the year. He's at a .249/.306/.386 slash line with six home runs, 22 RBI, 24 runs scored and three stolen bases through 62 contests. Brennan is likely to share right field with Johnathan Rodriguez for now, as David Fry should settle in as the Guardians' main designated hitter following Kyle Manzardo's demotion to Triple-A Columbus earlier Tuesday.
