• Returning to big leagues
Davis is expected to be called up from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Corey Crisan of DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.

Advice: Davis was sent down May 3 after a disappointing start to the season with the Pirates, but he's slashed .282 with seven home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base over 22 contests at Triple-A. He opened the season as Pittsburgh's primary option at catcher, and he'll likely split time with Yasmani Grandal at backstop once back in the big leagues. Grant Koch stands out as the most likely option to be sent down to Indianapolis in a corresponding move, but nothing is official yet. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:27 pm

  • Sent back to Triple-A
Atlanta optioned Tromp to Triple-A Gwinnett following Sunday's 3-1 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Tromp has seen limited usage as the No. 2 catcher behind Travis d'Arnaud for much of the season. He recently dropped to third on the depth chart behind Sean Murphy and d'Arnaud and hadn't played at all since Murphy was reinstated from the injured list Monday. The 29-year-old will now head back to Gwinnett to get regular playing time, with Atlanta set to announce a replacement for him on the 26-man active roster prior to Tuesday's series opener in Boston. • Ends slump Sunday
Garver went 2-for-4 with a three-run double in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Garver entered Sunday 0-for-20 over his last seven games. His last extra-base hit was May 21, and he hadn't knocked in a run since May 17. He was able to put an end to all of those slumps, delivering a big knock in the eighth inning to give the Mariners some breathing room. The 33-year-old has struggled to get anything going at the plate this year, slashing .170/.276/.309 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored and eight doubles over 192 plate appearances as Seattle's primary designated hitter. • Mitch Garver plates three as Mariners top Angels
Mitch Garver went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Sunday afternoon, helping to lead the Mariners to victory over the visiting Angels.

Advice: Garver gave the Mariners quite a bit of breathing room with his bases-clearing three-run double off of Luis Garcia in the eighth inning — increasing the M’s advantage to 5-0. With his two-hit attack, the 33-year-old backstop is now hitting .170/.276/.309 with five homers and 17 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:43 pm

  • Victor Caratini homers in loss to Twins
Victor Caratini, starting behind the plate for Houston for the third time in four games, hit his fourth homer Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: He nearly had a second; his 401-foot fly to right-center in the seventh would have been a homer in 20 ballparks, according to Statcast. We still like Yainer Díaz, but Caratini is certainly one of the game’s top-30 catchers and really should have landed a starting job as a free agent over the winter. He’ll probably continue to cut into Díaz’s playing time in at least the short-term, making Díaz expendable in one-catcher shallow leagues. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:21 pm

  • Out of lineup Sunday
Nido is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Nido started behind the plate for both of the first two games of the series, going 1-for-7 with one RBI and two strikeouts. He'll cede catching duties Sunday to Luis Torrens, who will bat ninth and his first start of the season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:46 am
  • Getting afternoon off
Moreno is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Moreno will get some rest for the series finale after he started at catcher each of the past three days while going 2-for-12 with a double and two runs scored. Tucker Barnhart will step in behind the dish Sunday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:56 am
  • Receiving breather Saturday
Kelly is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus Boston, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Kelly will get a breather after he went 2-for-7 with a triple and a run scored over the first two games of the series. Jake Rogers will draw the start at catcher and bat ninth against the Red Sox. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:34 am
  • Knocks homer in victory
Caratini went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Thursday's 4-0 win versus Seattle.

Advice: Caratini plated the Astros' final two runs in the contest, belting a solo homer in the fifth inning and adding an RBI on a fielder's choice in the sixth. The long ball has his first since the final day of April, and the backup catcher has posted a modest .205 average over 39 at-bats in May. On a positive note, Caratini is registering a career-best 15.0 percent strikeout rate on the campaign. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:42 pm
