• Roddery Muñoz fans seven in victory over Rockies
Roddery Muñoz picked up his first career victory in impressive fashion on Wednesday night, piling up seven strikeouts over six innings of one-run baseball against the Rockies.

Advice: The 24-year-old rookie right-hander allowed just three hits and a pair of walks on the night. The lone tally against him came on an RBI ground out off the bat of Elias Diaz in the sixth inning. Aside from that, he was in complete command. Muñoz generated 12 swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night — half of those on his cutter — while posting a strong CSW of 30 percent. The Marlins have to give him another opportunity to start next week, though he’ll draw a difficult matchup having to take on the Dodgers in Los Angeles. For fantasy managers who are into streaming pitchers weekly, a two-step that goes at the Dodgers and vs. the Phillies is about as volatile as it gets. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago

  • Dakota Hudson pitches well in loss to Marlins
Dakota Hudson pitched well in a losing effort against the Marlins on Wednesday night, allowing just two runs on five hits across 5 2/3 frames.

Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander walked two batters and struck out a pair on the evening. All of the scoring done against him came in the fifth inning, as Luis Arraez roped an RBI single to center and then scored on an RBI double off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz. Hudson got six whiffs on 78 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. Now 0-5 on the season, he’ll try again to get into the win column as he carries a 5.93 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and an 18/17 K/BB ratio (30 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Giants in Colorado. • Ryan O’Hearn reaches twice in loss to Yankees
Ryan O’Hearn went 1-for-3 with a single and a walk as the Orioles were shut out at home by the Yankees on Wednesday evening.

Advice: As a team, the Orioles were only able to muster three singles and a pair of walks against Luis Gil and a host of Yankees’ relievers. O’Hearn was the only member of his squad to reach base twice. The 30-year-old is off to a nice start to his 2024 season, slashing .300/.380/.543 with four homers and nine RBI through his first 79 plate appearances. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Earns first hold
Wentz worked around a hit and a walk to pitch a scoreless inning of relief and earn a hold in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Cardinals. He struck out one.

Advice: Wentz has pitched well all season in relief, and he now has his first hold to show for it. The lefty has a miniscule 0.79 ERA across 11.1 innings and he's struck out 14. The move to the bullpen has done wonders for Wentz, as he struggled mightily as a starter last year, posting a 6.80 ERA and 1.68 WHIP across 105.2 innings. He figures to stick in a relief role moving forward. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

  • Angels release veteran outfielder Aaron Hicks
    Angels released OF Aaron Hicks.

Advice: The 34-year-old outfielder had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. He passed through waivers unclaimed and was granted his outright release. He’s now free to latch on elsewhere if any teams are in the market for a switch-hitting outfielder that was batting .140/.222/.193 during his time with the Halos. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Dodgers recall J.P. Feyereisen from Triple-A
Dodgers recalled RHP J.P. Feyereisen from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: He’ll take the place of Landon Knack on the team’s active roster — at least for a few days until presumably Walker Buehler rejoins the Dodgers’ rotation. Feyereisen has been hit hard in two appearances out of the Dodgers’ bullpen this season, registering a troublesome 40.50 ERA, 6.00 WHIP and a 1/3 K/BB ratio over 1 1/3 innings of work. • Dodgers option Landon Knack to Triple-A
Dodgers optioned RHP Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: While it’s not official, this move would seemingly indicate that Walker Buehler will step into the Dodgers’ rotation the next time that Knack’s spot comes around. Knack, 26, did a terrific job in his limited action with the Dodgers, posting a 2.81 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and an 11/5 K/BB ratio over 16 innings in his three starts. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
  • Optioned to OKC
The Dodgers optioned Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Advice: Knack threw five innings of one-run ball during his last start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but he will head back to the minors nonetheless. His demotion will allow J.P. Feyereisen to come up from the minors while also opening a spot in the Dodgers' rotation -- potentially pointing toward Walker Buehler (elbow) making his season debut Monday against the Marlins. • Has big game Wednesday
Vierling went 2-for-3 with a home run, an additional run scored and three total RBI in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Vierling connected for a two-run shot in the third inning, his third home run of the season, then drove in another run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The 27-year-old has been seeing regular time at third base with Gio Urshela (hamstring) out, and Vierling has responded with a solid .282 average and .758 OPS, giving him decent short-term fantasy value.
