Kyle Finnegan struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Rangers on Wednesday.

  • Trevor Williams tosses five shutout in win
Trevor Williams tossed five shutout innings with three strikeouts in a win over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Williams’ strong start to the season continued on Wednesday as he was able to keep a good Rangers lineup scoreless across five frames. He worked around plenty of traffic on the bases, giving up five hits and four walks while striking out three. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 2.27 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 22/12 K/BB ratio across 31 2/3 innings into a home start against the Orioles next week. Rotoworld Today, 7:26 pm

  • Andrew Heaney allows one run over seven vs. Nats
Andrew Heaney gave up one run with four strikeouts over seven innings in a loss against the Nationals.

Advice: Heaney was handed a tough-luck loss after giving up just one run over seven innings in what was his best start of the season. A double and a base hit in the second brought the only run in to score on Heaney. He worked around two more hits and did not walk a batter while striking out four. The 32-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 5.10 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 26/9 K/BB ratio across 30 innings. He’ll take on the Athletics in Oakland on Monday. Rotoworld Today, 7:24 pm

  • Notches another save
Neris worked around a hit to pitch a scoreless ninth inning and record the save in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Mets.

Advice: Shota Imanaga dominated the Mets across seven innings, and then Neris shut things down to secure his fifth save of the season. The veteran righty has pitched well since taking over closing duties from Adbert Alzolay, as Neris has allowed just one earned run over his last five appearances, lowering his season ERA to 3.27. While things could change at some point, it looks like Neris is locked in as the closer in Chicago for now. Rotowire.com Today, 7:15 pm
  • Connor Wong collects three hits as Red Sox win
Connor Wong went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI on Wednesday, propelling the Red Sox to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Giants.

Advice: Wong started things in the fourth inning with a leadoff double off of Daulton Jefferies, then raced around to score on an RBI double by Enmanuel Valdez. He also drove in a run of his own with a two-out RBI double off of Mitch White in the seventh inning. The 27-year-old backstop has been sizzling at the dish as of late, hitting .366/.387/.620 with five homers and 14 RBI in 21 games. Rotoworld Today, 7:12 pm

  • Jarren Duran reaches three times in win Wednesday
Jarren Duran smacked an RBI triple, scored a run and drew a pair of walks as the Red Sox triumphed over the Giants on Wednesday evening at Fenway Park.

Advice: Duran worked a walk off of Daulton Jefferies in the third inning and came around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI ground out off the bat of Rob Refsnyder. He then plated a run of his own with a two-out RBI triple that chased Jefferies in the fourth inning. He has done a nice job atop the Red Sox’ lineup to begin the season, slashing .269/.347/.400 with one homer, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases. Rotoworld Today, 7:09 pm

  • Héctor Neris holds on for fifth save Wednesday
Héctor Neris worked a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Neris was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a one-run lead. He recorded one out, then hit a batter and gave up a double to put the tying run on third and the go-ahead run in scoring position. Jeff McNeil hit a fly out and Pete Alonso was tagged out at home to end the game. Neris is up to five saves despite some shaky outings. Rotoworld Today, 6:55 pm
  • Willi Castro goes 3-for-5, steals base
Willi Castro went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and a stolen base Wednesday as the Twins took down the White Sox 10-5.

Advice: Castro has really warmed up, going 16-for-35 with eight RBI in his last eight games. That’s raised his OPS from .538 to 789. He was in line to lose playing time due to Carlos Correa’s return, but the hot streak has changed that, and now that Byron Buxton is down, there’s little doubt that Castro will stay in the lineup for a while. He’s an option for teams in need of steals. Rotoworld Today, 2:27 pm

  • Jarren Duran, has three hits, SB in win
Jarren Durran went 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI, and a steal in a 4-0 win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Duran’s hits were singles but each of them was at least 107 mph off the bat. In fact, he had three of the six hardest-hit balls of the game. His stolen base was also his ninth of the season and the lead-off hitter is slashing .268/.338/.386. The power has not been there this year, but if Duran keeps hitting the ball hard and getting on base then he’s going to rack up steals and continue to be useful in fantasy leagues.
