    • Recent struggles continue
Ober (5-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits, including a home run, and four walks over five innings against the Yankees. He struck out two.

Advice: Ober wasn't sharp against a Yankees lineup that is on a roll. The outing continued his recent struggles, as he has a 7.58 ERA with a 15:8 K:BB in his last 19 innings. Ober hasn't thrown more than five innings in any of his last four starts, making him a risky option in his next start, which lines up to come this weekend in Pittsburgh. • Exits early Tuesday
Flaherty was removed from Tuesday's game against the Rangers due to back tightness, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Flaherty had cruised through five shutout innings and thrown just 60 pitches before being suddenly pulled from the game. Manager A.J. Hinch said after the contest that the team still does not know the severity of the right-hander's injury, but the Tigers will presumably continue to run tests on his back and have an update on his status within the next couple of days. • Jack Flaherty left start due to back tightness
Jack Flaherty was removed from Tuesday’s start against the Rangers due to back tightness.

Advice: Flaherty said after the game that he thinks he’ll be able to make his next start, which was already due to come with a couple of extra days off. The 28-year-old righty has been outstanding this season in his Tigers debut and was lifted from Tuesday’s outing against the Rangers after striking out four over five scoreless frames. • Jack Flaherty exits Tuesday with possible injury
Jack Flaherty left Tuesday’s start against the Rangers with a possible injury.

Advice: Flaherty was cruising with four strikeouts and needed just 60 pitches (44 strikes) to navigate five scoreless frames before being lifted from the contest. No word yet on the reason for his removal, but Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press adds that Flaherty was spotted stretching in the dugout prior to his early exit. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:51 pm

    • Bailey Ober struggles in loss to Yankees
Bailey Ober gave up three runs over five innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Ober was tagged for just three hits over five frames, but a solo homer from Gleyber Torres and two-run double by Aaron Judge were enough to saddle him with a loss in a matchup against Yankees emerging start Luis Gil. He finished with a pair of strikeouts and also issued four walks. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.94 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60/16 K/BB ratio across 62 innings (12 starts) into a road matchup on Sunday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:40 pm

    • Sharp in win
Rodriguez (6-2) picked up the win Monday against Toronto, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and zero walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings.

Advice: The only earned run allowed by Rodriguez was a solo home run by Vladimir Guerrero in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old set a new season-best with 6.2 innings pitched Monday, turning in his fifth quality start of the season. Rodriguez has found his groove over his past five starts -- in that span, the right-hander owns a 2.16 ERA and 31:12 K:BB in 29.1 innings. Rodriguez will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for this weekend in Tampa. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:43 pm
    • Strikes out six in no-decision
Skubal did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Skubal surrendered a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien in the first inning but held the Rangers in check over the next five and left the mound in a 1-1 tie. Skubal allowed at least one baserunner in each inning, but he was still able to earn a quality start despite not having his best stuff. Through 12 starts, Skubal, who has not walked more than two batters in any game this season, has posted a sparkling 1.97 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 86:13 K:BB and tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Brewers on Sunday. • Skubal strikes out six in no-decision Monday
Tarik Skubal allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Skubal gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. He managed to earn a quality start for the ninth time in 12 starts this season. Skubal allowed a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, but that was the only run the Rangers could muster against him. His ERA is now 1.97 as he continues to push for the AL Cy Young award. The 27-year-old left-hander will face the Brewers at home this weekend. Rotoworld Monday, 7:29 pm

    • Rodriguez picks up sixth win Monday
Grayson Rodriguez allowed two runs (one earned) in 6 2/3 innings and got the win in the Orioles’ 7-2 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: The win was Rodriguez’ sixth of the season. He gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out four. The Blue Jays scored on an RBI triple by Daulton Varsho and a solo home run by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Rodriguez has allowed more than three runs in only two of his 10 starts this season. His ERA is now 3.28 on the year. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays on the road this weekend. Rotoworld Monday, 6:43 pm
