    • Kyle Tucker still not running the bases
The Athletic’s Chandler Rome reported that, even though the Astros are optimistic Kyle Tucker (shin) will return during the first week of September, Tucker “is still not sprinting at full speed, nor has he tested himself running the bases.”

Advice: This is one of the weirdest injuries we’ve seen in a while. Despite (reportedly) no break or fracture of any kind, Tucker has been sidelined for almost three months. Obviously, until Tucker starts to run, a minor-league rehab assignment isn’t realistic, so we need to hear that he’s running the bases before we have a better idea of his timeline. The Astros have already said Tucker will have to manage some amount of pain upon his return, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect many stolen bases when he does come back. Whenever that might be. • Belts 20th homer
Ramos went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Mariners.

Advice: Ramos reached the 20-homer plateau with a two-run blast in the first inning off Bryan Woo, representing the only damage the Giants could muster off the Seattle starter. Ramos later added an infield single off Woo and has collected multiple hits in three of his last four games with four of the six hits during that stretch going for extra bases. For the season, Ramos ranks within the top 25 in the majors in both batting average (.284) and OPS (.845). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm
    • Collects 19th save
Munoz picked up the save Sunday, walking two and striking out two during a scoreless ninth inning against the Giants.

Advice: Munoz finished off the Giants for his 19th save of the season though it was his first save in four weeks. It was not a perfect outing for Munoz who struggled with his command, tossing just 10 of 21 pitches for strikes while walking two. However, he also struck out two, including Mark Canha with a runner on third to end the game. Munoz has allowed four earned runs and nine total baserunners over his last four appearances, but still maintains a dominant 1.80 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 63 strikeouts over 50 innings this season. • Fifth consecutive quality start
Woo (6-2) picked up the win Sunday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits over seven innings against the Giants. He struck out seven.

Advice: A throwing error and a home run put Woo into a hole in the first, but he rebounded to allow just three singles over the final six scoreless innings of his outing to pick up the win. It was the fifth straight quality start for Woo, who has pitched into the seventh during each of those appearances, compiling a 1.59 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 31 strikeouts over 34 innings. He'll look for a sixth straight quality start in his next matchup, scheduled to take place in Anaheim against the hapless Angels. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:58 pm
    • Under unspecified innings limit
General manager Ben Cherington acknowledged Sunday that there is a range of innings that the Pirates don't want Skenes to surpass this season, which could lead to the right-hander's starts becoming more abbreviated over the final month of the campaign, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cherington didn't offer up a firm number in terms of a potential innings limit for Skenes, but a workload-management plan already looks to be in place for the phenom rookie. As Stumpf notes, Skenes was lifted after six scoreless innings in his most recent outing Thursday against the Reds, despite having thrown just 87 pitches while exhibiting no signs of wearing down. The 87 pitches were Skenes' fewest in a start since his MLB debut back on May 11, and a workload around that level could become the norm for the 22-year-old down the stretch if the Pirates choose not to shut him down. Across his 17 starts in the majors, his seven starts at Triple-A Indianapolis and his two Grapefruit League appearances, Skenes has thrown 134.1 innings in 2024. He covered 129.1 innings in 2023 between his college season at LSU and his brief time in the minors upon getting selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the First-Year Player Draft. • Drives in three runs
Keith went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Keith singled in a run during the third inning before capping off Detroit's nine-run day with his two-run double in the eighth. It was his ninth multi-hit performance of the month and his seventh over the last 12 games. During that 12-game stretch, he's 19-for-50 (.380), but only four of those hits have gone for extra bases. After some early-season struggles (.595 OPS through the end of June), Keith is now slashing .264/.316/.398 with 29 extra-base hits, seven steals and 51 RBI through 119 games. • Andrés Muñoz slams door on Giants on Sunday
Andrés Muñoz slammed the door on the Giants on Sunday afternoon, working a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a one-run advantage.

Advice: Muñoz made things interesting on himself by walking Matt Chapman to start the frame but battled back to strike out Mike Yastrzemski before getting Thairo Estrada on a chopper in front of home plate. The 25-year-old hurler then walked Grant McCray to put the winning run on base before retiring Mark Canha on a swinging third strike to end it. Muñoz now boasts 19 saves to go along with a stellar 1.80 ERA on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:52 pm
    • Bryan Woo fans seven in victory over Giants
Bryan Woo delivered a strong performance in Sunday’s victory over the Giants, surrendering just two runs (one earned) on four hits over seven innings of work.

Advice: The 24-year-old right-hander piled up seven strikeouts on the afternoon and didn’t walk a batter. He served up a two-run homer to Heliot Ramos in the opening inning after Tyler Fitzgerald had reached on an error, then shut the Giants down for the next six innings. Woo generated 16 swings and misses on 94 pitches on the night — 12 of those on his fastball — while registering an elite CSW of 37 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries an impressive 2.05 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and a 68/9 K/BB ratio (87 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Angels. • Heliot Ramos goes deep in loss to Mariners
Heliot Ramos crushed his 20th home run of the season on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to power the Giants to victory over the Mariners.

Advice: The 24-year-old slugger victimized Mariners’ starter Bryan Woo for his 390-foot (107.8-mph EV) two-run shot that opened the scoring in the top half of the first inning. He also singled in the contest, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. Ramos has had a very productive season in the middle of the Giants’ lineup, hitting .284/.341/.504 with the aforementioned 20 long balls and 64 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:52 pm
