    • Earns win Friday
Olson (3-8) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits over 5.2 innings to earn the win Friday against the Reds. He walked two and struck out eighth.

Advice: While Reese's record isn't great, he's actually pitched quite well this season with a 3.22 ERA. The righty has been even better lately, posting a 1.88 ERA with 28 strikeouts across 24 innings in his last four starts. Reese was solid as a rookie last year as well, posting a 3.99 ERA over 21 games (18 starts), so it looks like he firmly belongs at this level. He'll look to keep up his strong recent play in his next scheduled start, which is penciled in for Wednesday against the Guardians. Rotowire.com Today, 6:42 am
    • Carlos Correa hits grand slam in loss to Astros
Carlos Correa hit his third career grand slam Friday against the Astros.

Advice: The slam was off Josh Hader in the ninth, but the Twins still came up a little short after scoring seven runs in the final frame of a 13-12 loss. It was Correa’s 11th homer this year., and he’s been one of the AL’s best players while batting .307/.377/.514. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • Pummels three homers
Smith went 3-for-3 with three solo home runs, two walks and four total runs scored in Friday's 8-5 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Smith hit just two homers in June, so he's already off to a fantastic start in July. The catcher went to the opposite field for his first-inning blast before pulling his solo shots in the third and seventh innings. Smith is up to a .276/.349/.502 slash line with 14 homers, 53 RBI, 45 runs scored, 18 doubles and one triple over 73 contests this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:24 pm

    • Alex Verdugo goes 0-for-5 in defeat
Alex Verdugo went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts as the Yankees’ cleanup hitter Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Verdugo homered in his first game against his former team last month, but that’s the only homer he’s hit in five weeks since May 29. He’s hitting a modest .244/.301/.392 for the season, and he’s fortunate Jasson Dominguez’s oblique injury has left the Yankees with no quality replacements for him in left field. • Will Smith homers three times in win over Brewers
Will Smith hit three homers to help the Dodgers to an 8-5 win over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Three homers is a lot. Smith hit two of his dingers off Aaron Civale, and he took Bryan Hudson deep for his third roundtripper of the contest and the 14th of the season. On top of those homers, Smith also drew two walks. Smith continues to be among — of not the — best catchers in the sport and is slashing a strong .276/.349/.502 with 53 RBI. There’s plenty of reasons to believe he’ll be just as good or better in the second half of the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:45 pm

    • Delivers walk-off homer
Machado went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and three total runs scored in Friday's 10-8 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Padres blew a five-run lead in the top of the ninth inning, but Machado saved the day with his walk-off blast. He had started to go cold, going 2-for-15 over his previous four games, but he's now slugged five homers and added 11 RBI over his last nine contests. The third baseman is at a .270/.320/.425 slash line with 12 long balls, 49 RBI, 42 runs scored and five stolen bases through 84 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm

    • Manny Machado hits game-winning homer in ninth
Manny Machado hit a walkoff two-run homer to give the Padres a 10-8 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: The Padres trailed 8-7 in the ninth, but after Jurickson Profar took Paul Sewald deep to tie the game and Jake Cronenworth walked, Machado blasted a two-run shot off Sewald for the game-winner. The 32-year-old star has a dozen homers and 49 RBI on the season, but none bigger — at this point, anyway — than the ones he procured Friday night. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:33 pm

    • Ozzie Albies with three hits, homer in loss
Ozzie Albies went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored on Friday against the Phillies.

Advice: Albies was part of every Braves’ scoring play in this one as he came around to score on both Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna’s home runs while contributing a solo shot of his own. He’s begun heating up of late and is riding an eight-game hitting streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:49 pm

    • Max Fried can’t stop Phillies’ bats
Max Fried allowed 11 hits and five earned runs in six innings of work on Friday against the Phillies. He struck out four and walked one in a loss.

Advice: This was a pivotal game for the Braves as they try to claw their way back into the NL East race and Fried simply did not have it. He lived in the heart of the zone and the Phillies made him pay time and time again. They had base runners in five out of six innings and looked incredibly comfortable in the box all night. Fried was fortunate to get through this start with only five earned runs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:48 pm
