    • Clayton Kershaw touches 90 mph in sim game
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) threw a two-inning simulated game on Friday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Kershaw touched 90 mph on the radar gun during the throwing session. The Dodgers have yet to schedule Kershaw’s first rehab start, but it might not be far off. First, he’ll throw another sim game next week. The 36-year-old southpaw is coming back from surgery last November to repair his shoulder capsule and ligaments. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:29 pm

    • Another rehab start coming
Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cole made his first rehab appearance Tuesday with Somerset, firing 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He threw 45 pitches and touched 97 miles per hour, which is in line with his normal velocity. Cole should see his pitch count increase Sunday, and he'll likely need at least one more rehab outing before coming off the 60-day IL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:27 pm

Gerrit Cole’s second rehab start as he returns from an elbow injury will come for Double-A Somerset on Sunday.

Advice: Cole also pitched at Somerset his first time out. He’s expected to make at least one more rehab start in addition to this weekend’s. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:14 pm

    • Fans eight in victory
Greene (4-2) earned the win over the Cubs on Thursday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings.

Advice: Greene gave up a pair of two-run homers but otherwise kept the Cubs off the scoreboard. The right-hander racked up 17 whiffs among his 111 pitches and gave Cincinnati 6.2 frames, marking the fifth straight start during which he's completed at least six innings. Greene ranks 11th in the majors with 77.1 frames on the season while recording a 3.61 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 84:32 K:BB. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:31 pm

    • Struggles against Twins
Stroman allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Thursday.

Advice: Stroman was handed a 7-2 lead through four innings but couldn't go deep enough to qualify for the victory. He allowed two doubles and a walk while also hitting a batter in the fifth frame, retiring only two batters before he was pulled. This was a big letdown for Stroman after he notched four consecutive quality starts while posting a 1.01 ERA over his previous 26.2 innings coming into Thursday. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, which tentatively lines up to take place in Kansas City next week. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:47 pm

    • Lacks command in loss
Gray (7-4) allowed three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings to take the loss versus the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: The four walks were a season high for Gray, and he also uncorked two wild pitches, one of which allowed a run to score in the fifth inning. Gray's control issues have manifested with five straight starts where he's allowed multiple walks, and he's failed to complete six innings in any of his last four outings. The right-hander is now at a 3.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 82:19 K:BB over 61.2 innings through 11 starts this season. Gray is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates. • Stroman allows five in no-decision Thursday
Marcus Stroman allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Yankees’ 8-5 victory over the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Stroman gave up six hits, walked two and struck out two. He didn’t qualify for the win because he was unable to complete five innings. Stroman’s ERA is 3.16 on the season, but his xFIP is significantly higher at 4.48. He’s never been a big strikeout pitcher and has benefitted from an 82 percent left on base percentage this year. Stroman is certainly due for regression in that area. The 33-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals at home next week. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:18 pm

    • Gray allows three in loss Thursday
Sonny Gray allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Gray gave up two hits, walked four and struck out five. It was an uneven start for Gray, who threw 89 pitches. He had two wild pitches, one of which allowed a run to score. Gray also had a pitch clock violation. While his ERA increased to 3.21 on the year, his xFIP is much lower at 2.64. The 34-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back against the Pirates at home next week. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:51 pm

    • Evan Phillips allows three runs in non-save spot
Evan Phillips was charged with three runs in the eighth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

Advice: Phillips got the call for his first appearance in nearly a week with the Dodgers leading by seven runs at the time and wound up surrendering four hits, including a three-run homer to Oneil Cruz. Fortunately, his struggles didn’t end up impacting the final result of the contest, but it certainly doesn’t do fantasy managers any favors in the ratio departments. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:51 pm
