Andrew Abbott strikes out season-high 10 in win
Andrew Abbott fanned 10 while allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday in a win over the Red Sox.
Advice: The 10 strikeouts topped his previous season high by two. Abbott yielded homers to Connor Wong and Jarren Duran, but no further damage was done. There still isn’t much at all to like about Abbott’s peripherals, but he has reduced his walk rate, and this is the right year to be a big flyball pitcher. He’s currently 6-6 with a 3.40 ERA, even though he’s given up 15 homers in 84 2/3 innings.
