    • Homers twice in win
Candelario went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's 5-2 win over Boston.

Advice: Candelario had been battling tendinitis in the back of his right knee, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, but he was ready to go Friday with the help of the Reds' training staff. The knee didn't cool off Candelario's scoring bat. He homered in his first two plate appearances -- the second two-HR game this month -- and is batting .347/.351/.736 over 18 games in June. • Tagged with seven runs
Rodriguez (8-3) allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks over five-plus innings Friday, striking out eight and taking a loss against Houston.

Advice: Rodriguez gave up runs in the first and second innings but the real damage didn't come until later. He coughed up a three-run shot to Jake Meyers in the fifth inning and was charged with two runs during Houston's nine-run sixth. Rodriguez saw his three-game winning streak come to an end while taking his first loss of the month. He's given up seven runs twice this season but has allowed two or fewer runs in 10 of his 13 outings, resulting in a 3.82 ERA overall. The 24-year-old righty is in line for a home matchup with Cleveland next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:15 am
    • Grayson Rodriguez tagged for seven runs by Astros
Grayson Rodriguez surrendered seven runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Every time it looks like Rodriguez is ready to turn the corner and become an elite fantasy starter, something like this happens. Still, Rodriguez appears to be on the right path. Just three times this season has he allowed more than two earned runs, and while he’s been lit up for 18 runs in those three starts, he’s actually posted a 25/4 K/BB ratio in those outings. • Homers in return to lineup
Jones went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: Jones was out of the starting nine for two games with an illness, but he returned to the lineup and hit sixth Friday. He tallied his second home run of the season and has seven hits across 18 at-bats with only three strikeouts since being activated from the injured list June 14. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:48 pm

    • Strikes out 10 in short start
Cease allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Cease has failed to complete five innings in three of his last seven starts. He labored in this one, throwing 68 of 106 pitches for strikes while posting double-digit strikeouts for the second time this year. The right-hander is at a 4.14 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 116:28 K:BB over 91.1 innings through 16 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Nationals. • Goes deep again Friday
Ohtani went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Angels.

Advice: The Dodgers only had seven total baserunners in the contest, and the hitters behind Ohtani in the order went a combined 0-for-16. He has logged multiple hits in five of his last six games, and he's swatted five homers with 11 RBI in that span. The superstar is up to a .322/.398/.628 slash line with 22 long balls, 55 RBI, 60 runs scored and 16 stolen bases on 18 attempts through 75 games this year. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:03 pm

    • Jeimer Candelario homers twice to lead Reds
Jeimer Candelario launched a pair of solo homers in leading the Reds to a 5-2 win over the Red Sox on Friday.

Advice: Remember when Candelario was having a bad season? He’s hit eight homers, knocked in 17 runs and even stolen three bases this month to push his season line up to .255/.310/.506. Rotoworld Friday, 10:41 pm

    • Andrew Abbott strikes out season-high 10 in win
Andrew Abbott fanned 10 while allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday in a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The 10 strikeouts topped his previous season high by two. Abbott yielded homers to Connor Wong and Jarren Duran, but no further damage was done. There still isn’t much at all to like about Abbott’s peripherals, but he has reduced his walk rate, and this is the right year to be a big flyball pitcher. He’s currently 6-6 with a 3.40 ERA, even though he’s given up 15 homers in 84 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Friday, 10:41 pm

    • Takes blown save, loss
Duran (3-3) allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one over one inning Friday, taking the loss and a blown save versus the Athletics.

Advice: Duran served up a two-run home run to Shea Langeliers after being called upon to protect a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning. This was Duran's first blown save of the year -- he's converted 11 saves and added four holds over 24 appearances. The closer has a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB through 23 innings.
