    • Randy Rodríguez strikes out five as opener
Randy Rodríguez allowed one run and struck out five in 2 2/3 innings Tuesday in his start against the Cubs.

Advice: This was definitely a bit longer than the Giants were expecting to go on one day of rest, but he made it hard to take him out; Rodríguez retired eight of nine batters before allowing a walk and an RBI single (after a stolen base) and getting pulled in the third. Rodríguez will probably open again later this week. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Kyle Hendricks holds Giants to two runs in loss
Kyle Hendricks was strong for seven innings Tuesday against the Giants, allowing just two runs and five hits in a loss.

Advice: Colten Brewer came in and gave up three runs in the eighth after Hendricks left, but that didn’t matter much in a game in which the Cubs managed just one run. Hendricks boasts a 0.84 ERA in 21 1/3 innings this month, making for an incredible in-season turnaround. He entered June with a 10.16 ERA in seven starts and two relief appearances. • Pete Crow-Armstrong strikes out three times
Pete Crow-Armstrong struck out all three times he was up against the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: Crow-Armstrong has struck out 22 times while batting .151/.182/.226 in 53 plate appearances this month. The defense is strong, and he’s been a force on the basepaths, but the Cubs still might need to send him back to Triple-A to work on his approach at the plate. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago
    • Throws bullpen session
Stewart (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday and is scheduled to throw again Wednesday and Saturday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Advice: The right-hander landed on the injured list with shoulder tendinitis in early May and received a PRP injection a few weeks later. If all goes well Stewart could progress to a simulated game early next week. It's possible he could return in early July before the All-Star break, but his recovery has moved at a slow pace. • Homers in loss
France went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 11-3 loss to the Rays.

Advice: France singled in the third inning and hit a 427-foot two-run home run in the fifth. He had been mired in a 1-for-20 slump since returning from the IL with a heel injury June 18, and the homer was his first since May 31. On the season, the first baseman is hitting .238 with eight home runs and 29 RBI over 235 at-bats. Rotowire.com Today, 9:24 pm

    • Clubs leadoff homer in win
Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win versus the White Sox.

Advice: The Dodgers' designated hitter crushed Chris Flexen's fifth pitch of the game 376 feet for a leadoff homer. Ohtani has now batted atop the order eight consecutive games while hitting .419 (13-for-31) with five homers, 14 RBI and 10 runs scored. The Japanese superstar may be on his way to a third MVP campaign as he's slashing .318/.395/.626 with 24 homers, 63 runs scored, 60 RBI and 16 steals over 356 plate appearances this season. • Homers, drives in four in win
Rortvedt went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 11-3 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Rortvedt walked in the fifth inning, hit a two-run home run in the sixth and added a two-run single in the seventh. The catcher has enjoyed a great June, hitting .333 with three home runs and 14 RBI over 45 at-bats. The 26-year-old only has 15 at-bats against left-handed pitching this season, but he is slashing a solid .282/.369/.405 with three homers and 23 RBI in 146 at-bats against righties. • Benintendi homers as White Sox fall to Dodgers
Andrew Benintendi went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Dodgers

Advice: Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first after a leadoff homer by Shohei Ohtani, Benintendi put the White Sox on top when he smacked a two-run homer to deep right field to score Tommy Pham and give the White Sox a 2-1 lead. That lead didn’t prove to be enough, as the Dodgers bounced back courtesy of a two-run homer by Freddie Freeman and an RBI single by Ohtani. Benintendi is batting just .203 on the season with six home runs and 22 RBI. He’s well off the fantasy radar at this time. Rotoworld Today, 8:38 pm

    • Ohtani homers, pushes RBI streak to nine games
Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

Advice: Chris Flexen’s fifth pitch of the night turned into a 400-foot homer by Ohtani to kick off the first inning. Ohtani’s homer extended his RBI streak to nine games, which ties the Dodgers’ single-season record. Ohtani would drive in another run in the fourth on an RBI single, as he’s now driven in 16 runs over this nine-game span. Rotoworld Today, 8:20 pm
