    • Takes loss vs Astros
Maeda (2-3) allowed four runs in five innings, he gave up five hits and two walks while striking out one on Sunday vs the Astros.

Advice: Maeda got tagged early as he gave up all four runs in the first two frames, with the three-run homer to Jose Altuve being the costly hit. He managed to settle in as he faced the minimum nine hitters over the next three frames to get through five innings. Maeda has now given up at least four runs in five of his 11 starts this season. The veteran righty will take a 6.02 ERA into his next start as he still tries to find a rhythm with his new club. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Back on bench Sunday
Wells is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Wells will sit for the second time in the series after making his lone start in Saturday's 8-1 win. Though he's gone 5-for-15 with a home run and walk in his last five games, Wells still appears to be stuck in a timeshare at catcher with Jose Trevino. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Bleday has two hits in loss Sunday
JJ Bleday went 2-for-4 with a double against the Twins on Sunday.

Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Athletics offense as they managed only two runs in the loss to the Twins. Bleday had two hits, though, and is now 7-for-18 (.388) over his last five games. The third-year outfielder is currently enjoying his best season with a .773 OPS. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

    • Correa hammers three hits, two home runs Sunday
Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with two home runs, two runs scored, and 3 RBI against the Athletics on Sunday.

Advice: Correa continues his hot streak at the dish. The two home runs give him eight total on the season and his average is up to .306 with an .879 OPS. He’s been as good as a player can be in fantasy without stealing bases.

    • Sears gives up nine hits, four runs in loss Sunday
JP Sears allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Twins on Sunday.

Advice: Sears gave up nine hits, walked four and struck out one. Three of the hits allowed were home runs. Despite a 16 percent strikeout percentage, Sears has been somewhat usable in fantasy at home as he has a 3.31 ERA in six home starts. Otherwise, he’s off the fantasy radar. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Twins at home next week.

    • Yennier Cano earns unexpected save for Orioles
Yennier Cano got one out on four pitches Sunday to grab the save. He struck out the only batter he faced.

Advice: Things got hairy in the ninth inning for Baltimore as a walk and two errors loaded the bases and forced Brandon Hyde to go to Cano with the tying run on deck. He struck out Edmundo Sosa to end the game and earned his third save of the season working in mostly a set-up role while Craig Kimbrel still soaks up the majority of saves. • Demoted after another poor start
Atlanta optioned Waldrep to Triple-A Gwinnett following Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Rays, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: After he yielded seven earned runs and walked four batters in just 3.2 innings in his MLB debut last Sunday in Washington, Waldrep was given another chance to prove he belonged in Atlanta's rotation. Unfortunately for the 22-year-old righty, he was sent back to the minors after displaying shaky command and control for a second straight outing. He was once again pulled midway through the fourth inning Sunday, needing 71 pitches (42 strikes) to record 10 outs while allowing six earned runs on five hits -- including two home runs -- and four walks. The long-term outlook remains bright for Waldrep, but he'll need further seasoning in the upper levels of the minors before he gets another look in the Atlanta rotation. • Taking seat Sunday
Loftin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: He'll give way to Garrett Hampson at second base for the series finale. Loftin had manned the keystone in seven of the Royals' previous eight games and should remain Kansas City's primary option at the position until Michael Massey (back) returns from the injured list. • Resting against lefty
Benintendi is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Benintendi will cede left field to Corey Julks while the Diamondbacks bring southpaw Jordan Montgomery to the hill for the series finale. Since returning from the injured list Wednesday, Benintendi has made two starts and has gone 3-for-6 with a double, two walks and a run. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago
