    • Homers in loss
Taylor went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Giants.

Advice: Taylor put the Dodgers on the board with a solo shot in the fifth inning and later added an RBI double in the seventh. It was his second long ball of the year, and both have come in his last nine games. Taylor didn't have a multi-hit performance through 41 games to start the year but now has two in his last six contests. He's slashing .164/.256/.255 with five extra-base hits and 12 RBI through 126 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:18 pm

    • Brewers activating Mitchell, demoting Black
The Brewers will activate Garrett Mitchell and send down Tyler Black prior to Monday’s game in Colorado.

Advice: It seemed like Black would get more of a look this time around, but after four games in which he collected three hits and three walks, the Brewers glued him to the bench for the entire last week. Now they’ll be creating a logjam in the outfield by activating Mitchell while keeping Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins around. Jackson Chourio has turned into a fixture in right, so the Brewers will be choosing between Mitchell, Frelick, Perkins and Jake Bauers for two lineup spots each day. That’s not a great fantasy value situation for Mitchell, though his upside is very much present. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:35 pm
    • Chris Taylor homers, drives in two runs in loss
Chris Taylor went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI on Sunday in the Dodgers’ blowout loss to the Giants.

Advice: Taylor was one of the few bright spots for Los Angeles during Sunday’s one-sided smackdown at the hands of San Francisco, delivering one of this better performances of the season just a few hours after Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters he’ll be given a bit of a runway to make it work at third base moving forward. The struggling 33-year-old veteran went deep off Giants starter Spencer Bivens in the fifth inning before adding a run-scoring double a couple frames later. He’s still a long way off from consideration as a fantasy contributor, even in deeper mixed leagues, but a strong few weeks could be enough to keep him on the roster in Los Angeles heading towards the postseason. • Returns to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Black to Triple-A Nashville following Sunday's 7-1 win over the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 23-year-old was called up by Milwaukee on June 19 but totaled just 12 at-bats before being sent back to Triple-A. Black is one of the organization's top prospects but doesn't have a clear path to playing time in the big leagues given who the Brewers currently have available, so he'll go back to the minors to get more consistent playing time. • Set to be activated Monday
Mitchell (finger) will join the Brewers in Denver on Monday and will be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of the series opener against the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.comreports.

Advice: The 25-year-old has missed the first three months of the season due to a fractured finger, but he's ready to join the Brewers after a 14-game rehab assignment in the minor leagues. Milwaukee will now have a major logjam in the outfield, with Mitchell joining a group of Christian Yelich, Blake Perkins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio. Frelick saw time at third base during spring training, but Joey Ortiz (neck) has played his way into the starting job during the first half. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:24 pm
    • Not starting Sunday
Ortiz (neck) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old is out of the lineup for the third straight game due to neck soreness, but his absence is viewed as precautionary. Ortiz's appearance as a pinch runner during Saturday's contest reinforces that sentiment. Andruw Monasterio will receive another start at the hot corner in Sunday's series finale. • Joey Ortiz (neck) remains out Sunday vs. Cubs
Joey Ortiz (neck) is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Cubs.

Advice: Ortiz is dealing with neck stiffness, and the issue caused him to be scratched from Saturday’s lineup and will cause at least one more missed game. The Brewers are calling Ortiz’s absence precautionary, so consider the 25-year-old day-to-day for now. Andruw Monasterio will handle third base while Ortiz recovers. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:16 am

    • Scores twice, drives in two
Pena went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: Pena did the majority of his damage with a two-RBI double in the fourth inning. He has now driven in eight runs across his last seven starts, and he's also hit .320 in that span. Pena has just a .099 ISO across 327 plate appearances this season, though he's cut his strikeout rate to 16.5 percent and is hitting a career-best .281. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:22 am
    • Extends hit streak to 13 games
Kiner-Falefa went 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa singled and scored in the first inning and added another base hit in the fifth. He smacked an RBI single and scored in the sixth frame and then finished his huge day by doubling and scoring again in the eighth. The 29-year-old has put together a 13-game hit streak and seen his season average climb from .263 to .296. He also has seven home runs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored and three steals over 277 plate appearances in what has been a surprisingly productive 2024. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:32 pm
