    • Benintendi homers as White Sox fall to Dodgers
      Andrew Benintendi went 1-for-3 with a home run an two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Dodgers



      Advice: Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first after a leadoff homer by Shohei Ohtani, Benintendi put the White Sox on top when he smacked a two-run homer to deep right field to score Tommy Pham and give the White Sox a 2-1 lead. That lead didn’t prove to be enough, as the Dodgers bounced back courtesy of a two-run homer by Freddie Freeman and an RBI single by Ohtani.     • Gleyber Torres continues to deal with groin issue
      Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after Tuesday’s game that Gleyber Torres’s failure to run hard to first base in the eighth was a product of his groin issue.

      Advice: Torres left Thursday and missed Friday’s game with the groin problem before returning Saturday.       Jake Meyers went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Meyers was responsible for three of the Astros’ nine hits on the night and was part of the team’s five-run first inning. Meyers singled in the first to drive in Yordan Alvarez from second and later came around to score himself.       Chas McCormick went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Rockies.

      Advice: McCormick’s two-RBI single in the first capped off a five-run inning for the Astros, who sent all nine batters to the plate against embattled starter Austin Gomber.       Advice: Ibanez continued a strong June, as he's now batting .314 this month with six RBI and six runs scored across 15 games. The utility player is batting a solid .284 overall, and while he's not providing a ton of power, he has been a solid bat for the Tigers. Ibanez's biggest question moving forward is playing time, though Detroit figures to find creative ways to get him into the lineup even if he's not locked into a regular starting role.     • Brendan Rodgers drives in one in loss to Astros
      Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

      Advice: Rodgers was responsible for two of the Rockies’ 00 hits on the night and drove in their only run when he plated Brenton Doyle in the eighth inning.       Vinnie Pasquantino went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Marlins.

      Advice: Pasquantino singled in the first inning to score Maikel Garcia from third after Garcia walked to kick off the inning and subsequently stole two bases. It would be the only run the Royals would score on the night as they found themselves in a pitching duel between Yonny Chirinos and Seth Lugo.       Kreidler went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Phillies. He also stole two bases.

      Advice: Kreidler stole the first two bases of his MLB career in the seventh inning, when he swiped second base then stole third a short while later. The 26-year-old has mostly been a bench player in the majors, so while this effort was promising, it looks to be an outlier. Zach McKinstry figures to get most of the playing time at shortstop in the near future with Javier Baez (back) still on the injured list, pushing Kreidler to a reserve role most days.       Mark Vientos went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in a 9-7 win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

      Advice: Vientos’ power is legit and he now has nine home runs on the year and six in 19 games in June. Vientos is also hitting 19-for-69 (.275) in June while taking over the Mets’ starting third base role.
