    • Goes seven innings in win
Webb (7-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up both runs on three hits and a sacrifice fly in the first inning, then settled in to produce a strong start by not allowing a runner past second base for the next six frames. He's gone seven innings in six of his last eight starts as he continues to be an innings-eater at the top of the Giants' rotation. For the season, Webb has a 3.09 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 103:27 K:BB over 119.1 innings through 19 starts. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Blue Jays. • Webb allows two runs in win over Braves Thursday
Logan Webb allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Giants’ 4-2 victory over the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. The win was his seventh of the year. Webb gave up an RBI double to Ozzie Albies in the first inning and Albies later scored on an Austin Riley sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Braves. Then he held Atlanta scoreless for the next six innings. Webb has gone seven innings and allowed two runs in four of his last six starts. He’s been one of the most consistent pitchers in fantasy this year and has a 3.09 ERA. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

    • Ryan Jeffers goes 3-for-5, homers in rout
Ryan Jeffers went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI against the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh on what proved to be the last play in a rain-shortened game. Jeffers had a great first month and a half, followed by a bad second month and a half; he came into this one batting .157/.252/.269 since May 15. Hopefully, this was the start of him getting untracked and going back to being a viable option in one-catcher mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:31 pm

    • Juan Soto homers and walks in loss to Reds
Juan Soto homered and walked in a loss to the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Soto swatted a two-run dinger in the eighth inning to cut Cincinnati’s lead to 8-4, but the Yankees got no closer. The homer and walk improves the All-Star’s slash to .300/.438/.568 with 21 blasts and 63 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 1:11 pm

    • Jeremy Peña homers, reaches thrice in victory
Jeremy Peña went 2-for-4 with a homer in a 5-3 win over the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: Peña extended Houston’s lead to 5-3 with a homer in the seventh inning off Trevor Richards. The 26-year-old shortstop has homered seven times in 2024, and a three-reach game helps improve his slash to .280/.327/.400 over 325 at-bats. Rotoworld Today, 12:52 pm

    • Bo Bichette scratched Thursday with forearm bruise
Bo Bichette was scratched from Thursday’s lineup due to a right forearm contusion.

Advice: It’ll be Leo Jimenez making his big-league debut at shortstop on Thursday against the Astros in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 11:57 am

    • Luis Gil has been struggling with release point
According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Luis Gil’s recent struggles could be impacted by an inconsistent release point.

Advice: Boone said that the Yankees have noticed that Gil’s recent point has been inconsistent of late. That could be tied to fatigue since he’s pitching more innings than he ever has before or it could simply be a mechanical issue with an easy fix. The inconsistent release point could also be leading Gil to tip some of his pitches, which might provide more context to why the Orioles were able to pounce on his fastball so much in his recent start. It should also be noted that Gil is making many non-competitive pitches and leaving pitches over the heart of the plate, so the release point isn’t the only issue to be fixed, but it might be one that can be addressed soon. • Jake Irvin dominates Mets in win
Jake Irvin threw eight scoreless innings in a win over the Mets on Thursday, allowing just one hit and striking out eight.

Advice: It was sheer dominance from Irvin, who allowed a single to Jeff McNeil and nothing else. His curveball provided its typical strong results, and the trio of fastballs did their part as Irvin induced 15 whiffs on 47 swings for a 32 percent whiff rate and 38 percent CSW on the day. He now has a 2.80 ERA in what has been a breakout season and will look to keep that going next week against these same Mets. Rotoworld Today, 10:44 am

    • Has career day vs Mets
Irvin (7-6) earned the win Thursday against the Mets. He allowed one hit and one walk over eight scoreless innings with eight strikeouts.

Advice: Irvin was brilliant Thursday as he threw a career-high eight innings to grab his seventh win. After giving up a one-out single to Jeff McNeil in the third, Irvin went on to retire the final 17 batters he faced. He became the first Nationals pitcher to throw eight shutout innings since Joe Ross in June 2021. The 27-year-old has registered a quality start in eight of his last nine appearances. He is making a case for a spot in the All-Star Game with his 2.80 ERA, which is ranked 10th in the majors. Rotowire.com Today, 10:32 am
