    • Joey Loperfido doubles twice in Astros’ win
Joey Loperfido went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI as the Astros topped the Orioles 14-11 on Friday.

Advice: That’s a pretty good return to the majors. Both of Loperfido’s doubles actually came in the same inning, as the Astros came through with nine runs in the sixth. The Orioles actually responded with seven runs in the eighth, but it wasn’t quite enough in this one. Loperfido is batting .372/.413/,512 in 16 games as a major leaguer, and since the Astros seem posted to play him regularly against right-handers, he’s worth rostering in all formats at the moment. • Bryan Abreu picks up first save of 2024
Bryan Abreu protected a three-run lead against the Astros for his first save Friday.

Advice: Josh Hader, Ryan Pressly and Abreu all worked the previous two days, but the youngest of the trio was the only one available tonight, apparently. Abreu got the job done and finally picked up his first save in the process. He leads the AL with 38 appearances this season, and his ERA is down to 2.58 after a rough start. Still. because of the lack of saves, he’ll make less than a quarter of what he’s worth in arbitration again next year. Rotoworld Today, 12:08 am

    • Grayson Rodriguez tagged for seven runs by Astros
Grayson Rodriguez surrendered seven runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Every time it looks like Rodriguez is ready to turn the corner and become an elite fantasy starter, something like this happens. Still, Rodriguez appears to be on the right path. Just three times this season has he allowed more than two earned runs, and while he’s been lit up for 18 runs in those three starts, he’s actually posted a 25/4 K/BB ratio in those outings. • Gunnar Henderson homers twice against Astros
Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-5 with two homers, five RBI, a walk and a steal against the Astros on Friday.

Advice: That’s 24 homers in 74 games for Henderson. Many suggested that he’d fail to match his total of 28 homers in 150 games from his rookie season , but we’ll go out on a limb and say that he might actually better the total by one or two of 10 or so. Rotoworld Today, 12:08 am
    • Adley Rutschman finishes 5-for-5 against Astros
Adley Rutschman went 5-for-5 and scored two runs in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Advice: It’s Rutschman’s second career five-hit game; the other came on Opening Day last year, when he led the Orioles to a 10-9 win over the Red Sox. He also had three hits on Thursday, so he’s raised his average from .288 to .305 the last two days. Rotoworld Today, 12:08 am
    • Homers in return to lineup
Jones went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: Jones missed consecutive games with an illness but returned to the lineup to hit sixth Friday. He tallied his second home run of the season and has seven hits across 18 at-bats with only three strikeouts since being activated from the injured list June 14. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:48 pm

    • Takes second loss
Schreiber (3-2) allowed three runs on three hits over one-third of an inning to take the loss versus the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Schreiber was on the hook for three of the five runs the Rangers scored in the sixth inning. After opening June with four scoreless innings, Schreiber's struggles have returned -- he's given up eight runs (six earned) over his last four appearances, taking two blown saves in that span. Friday's outing pushed his ERA up to 4.15 with a 1.48 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB over 30.1 innings. While he has a save and 16 holds to his name this year, he could see a move to a low-leverage role if he continues to falter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:42 pm
    • Adds another steal
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The Guardians did all their damage in the second inning, with Ramirez contributing an RBI single to the seven-run rally. The third baseman has gone 5-for-16 with three steals, three RBI and four runs scored over four games since he returned from the paternity list. Ramirez is at a .271/.331/.521 slash line with 14 steals on 16 attempts, 18 home runs, 65 RBI and 55 runs scored through 70 contests as the engine of the Guardians' offense. • Yields five runs
Rea allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.

Advice: This was the first time all year Rea's failed to log a strikeout, and it's just the third time in 15 appearances (13 starts) he's been on the hook for five runs. The right-hander's poor outing has him at a 3.62 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 54:26 K:BB through 82 innings. Rea is projected to make his next start at home versus the Rangers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:36 pm
