      Advice: Gausman needed 107 pitches to record 13 outs, allowing season highs in runs (seven) and walks (five) while being tagged for three extra-base hits including a first-inning Aaron Judge two-run blast. Gausman did strike out seven batters to represent the fourth time this season he's reached at least seven in an outing, but that's nothing more than a minor silver lining around Sunday's ugly performance. It's the fifth time this season Gausman has allowed at least five runs in a start, and he closes the month of June with a 5.64 ERA over 36.2 innings spanning six starts.       Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against the Guardians on Sunday.

      Advice: Perez’ home run was his 14th of the season. He started the scoring with an RBI force out in the first inning and his two-run home run in the seventh inning put the Royals ahead 6-0.       Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Cubs’ offense as they could only muster one run against the Brewers. Hoerner’s home run was just his fourth of the year.     • Kevin Gausman loses, struggles again
      Kevin Gausman allowed seven runs in just 4 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Yankees. He walked five and struck out seven in a loss.

      Advice: Gausman just hasn’t been right all year. Aaron Judge crushed a first-inning fastball that wasn’t up-and-in enough and the Yankees kept traffic on the bases seemingly every inning. His tried and true game plan of fastballs and splitters does not have the same potency it used to as his fastball velocity has dipped and hitters don’t chase or whiff on that splitter like they once did.       Randy Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Sunday against the Nationals.

      Advice: Arozarena has been trending up of late and this game may have been the exclamation point on his return to self. He has a hit in 12 of his last 14 games and on Sunday became the fifth player this season to hit four balls at least 105 MPH in the same game joining Yordan Alvarez, Juan Soto, Ketel Marte, and Gunnar Henderson.       Advice: One day after belting a decisive three-run homer in the eighth inning, O'Hoppe tormented the Tigers again with a game-tying solo blast in the eighth frame. The budding star ranks fifth among MLB backstops with 12 long balls on the campaign while slashing a strong .273/.325/.478.
