    • Records save Saturday
Neris earned a save against the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one hit and issuing one walk while striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

Advice: Neris entered in the ninth inning with Chicago holding a two-run lead and got into a bit of hot water when two of the first three hitters he faced reach base. However, the veteran reliever bounced back to strike out the final two batters of the frame. Neris secured his 11th save of the season and recorded his third straight scoreless outing. That may have helped him steady his grip on the closer role to some extent after he blew two saves and gave up seven earned runs across 2.2 frames over three appearances between June 11 and June 17. • Spencer Howard obliterated in no-decision
Spencer Howard was obliterated in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Saturday evening, giving up six runs on six hits in just 2 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Woof. Howard came on after Erik Miller had worked a scoreless first inning as an opener. He gave up single runs in the second and third innings — including a solo homer off the bat of Shohei Ohtani. Howard was then gifted a three-run lead heading into the fourth inning where he gave it all back and then some — allowing run-scoring singles to Miguel Rojas and Gavin Lux before exiting in the four-run frame. The 27-year-old hurler got six swings and misses on 57 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He now holds an uninspiring 5.63 ERA and 1.83 WHIP over 24 innings on the season. • Falls flat versus Arizona
Harris (1-2) allowed three runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Just two of the 10 hits against Harris went for extra-bases, but he put too much traffic on the bases in each of the first four innings. The Athletics offered next to nothing in terms of offense, tallying two hits and a walk in the 3-0 loss. Harris had gone at least five innings in each of his previous five outings since he was recalled to the majors May 30. He's now at a 3.18 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB through 39.2 innings over eight appearances (six starts) this season. The southpaw is tentatively projected to make his next start at home in a tough matchup versus the Orioles. Rotowire.com Today, 6:12 pm

    • Set to start bullpen game
Dubin will start Sunday's game against the Mets, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Dubin will kick off what's expected to be a bullpen game for Houston and should handle between one and three innings. The 28-year-old hasn't pitched since Wednesday and logged at least two innings in four of his last six appearances, though he's yet to go deeper than three frames this season. • Not yet throwing
Hamilton (lat) has been rehabbing but hasn't yet resumed throwing, per MLB.com.

Advice: Hamilton landed on the injured list June 18 due to a mid-grade right lat strain. Initial expectations were that he would be shut down from throwing for 3-to-4 weeks, so it's not surprising that the reliever hasn't yet reached that part of his rehab. Hamilton isn't likely to return to the Yankees' bullpen until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 4:47 pm

    • Logs quality start in win
Spiers (2-1) earned the win against the Cardinals on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Spiers allowed an unearned run in the third inning and surrendered a solo home run to Paul Goldschmidt in the sixth. He has now thrown exactly six innings in each of his three starts this season and has posted back-to-back quality start victories. On the year, the 26-year-old owns a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB over 37.1 innings and lines up to face the Tigers next week. Rotowire.com Today, 4:20 pm

    • Hector Neris works around jam to pick up save
Hector Neris allowed two baserunners, but was able to fire a scoreless inning while picking up a save against the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: The Hector Neris experience is often successful, but it’s always an experience. The right-hander allowed the winning run to reach the plate after giving up a hit and a walk, but he was able to strike out pinch-hitter Tyler Black and Brice Turang to keep the runners off the board and pick up his 11th save of 2024. • Harris gives up 10 hits in loss to Diamondbacks
Hogan Harris allowed three runs in 3 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Harris gave up 10 hits, walked one and struck out three. He’s fortunate to have a 3.18 ERA given his xFIP is 4.65. Harris is far off the fantasy radar. The 27-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles at home next week.

    • Angels recall Andrew Wantz from Triple-A
Angels recalled RHP Andrew Wantz from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: With Zach Plesac heading back to Triple-A on Saturday, Wantz will get an opportunity to add a fresh arm to the Halos’ bullpen for the time being. The 28-year-old hurler had registered a 6.17 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and a 34/15 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings in seven appearances (six starts) at Triple-A. Rotoworld Today, 3:05 pm
