    • Fares well in start
Brown allowed one hit and two walks while striking out six over four scoreless innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Brown did a fine job, throwing 42 of 66 pitches for strikes while working on three days' rest. He's started five of his 12 appearances this season and now has a 3.20 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 45:15 K:BB over 39.1 innings. Kyle Hendricks' struggles opened up this chance for Brown to start, but he could find himself back in the bullpen once Jordan Wicks (forearm) is cleared to return. In any case, Brown appears to be near the top of the list for the Cubs whenever they have an opening in the rotation to fill. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

    • Records third steal
Albies went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Albies is hitting well, going 11-for-40 (.275) over his last 10 games, though he has just one extra-base hit, a double, in that span. The second baseman is slashing .269/.330/.388 with three home runs, three steals, 23 RBI, 22 runs scored and 10 doubles over 39 contests on the year. He's locked into a starting role, but the lack of counting stats is a small concern for a player that has hit 20-plus homers four times in the last six years. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Perez knocks in Tigers lone run Thursday
Wenceel Perez went 1-for-4 with an RBI against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: To say it was a quiet night for the Tigers offense would be an understatement. Detroit failed to record an extra-base hit on the night. Perez singled in the sixth inning to drive in Javier Baez and Carson Kelly was thrown out at home by Kevin Kiermaier on the same play. Perez has been the lone bright spot in the Tigers order recently. He’s hitting .295 with an .859 OPS and 14 RBI since his April call to the majors. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

    • Varsho blasts ninth home run Thursday
Daulton Varsho went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Varsho came to the plate in a tie game in the seventh inning and hit a two-run home run off Tigers starter Jack Flaherty that put the Blue Jays ahead for good. Varsho is hitting just .213 this year, but he has five stolen bases to go with nine home runs and 27 RBI. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago

    • Guerrero Jr. hits fifth home run Thursday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Guerrero Jr. scored on a Justin Turner double in the eighth inning and then homered in a 7-1 game in the ninth. The home run was his fifth of the season and he now has 24 RBI. Guerrero Jr. is up to .282 with a .799 OPS this year. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
    • Flaherty strikes out nine against Jays Thursday
Jack Flaherty allowed three runs and struck out nine in 6 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: The runs against Flaherty came on a solo home run by Isiah Kiner-Falefa in the third and a two-run home run by Daulton Varsho in the seventh. He has struck out at least nine batters in four of his 10 starts this season. Eight of those starts have been quality starts, but he’s only won one game due to a lack of support from the Tigers’ offense and bullpen. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Pirates at home next week. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

    • Gausman strikes out 10 in win Thursday
Kevin Gausman allowed one run and struck out 10 in six innings and picked up the win in the Blue Jays’ 9-1 victory over the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Gausman’s 10 strikeouts were a season-high. The win was his third in 10 starts this season. He allowed just three hits and two walks against the hapless Tigers offense. The 33-year-old right-hander is set to face the White Sox on the road next week. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

    • Hits third homer
Kelenic went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Kelenic opened the scoring in the fifth inning, taking Hayden Wesneski deep. This was Kelenic's third straight game with a hit, and all three of his homers this year have come over his last 11 contests, a span in which he's hitting .222 (8-for-36). The outfielder is at a .248/.293/.376 slash line with eight RBI, 11 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 116 plate appearances. He is likely to remain limited to a strong-side platoon role in left field, sharing the position with Adam Duvall, unless either outfielder goes on an extended hot streak. • Locks down 12th save
Iglesias struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Iglesias has converted his last four save chances since a blown save May 3 versus the Dodgers. He's allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over his last six innings, so it hasn't been the smoothest of stretches for the veteran closer. On the year, he's 12-for-14 in save chances with a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB over 19.1 innings. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago
