• Retreating to bench Sunday
Freeman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Though he's on the bench for Sunday's series finale, Freeman appears to have moved back into a quasi-everyday role with Will Brennan (ribs) recently landing on the injured list. Freeman, who has slashed .169/.272/.268 thus far in June, had started in each of the Guardians' last five games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:57 am

  • Homers, drives in three in win
DeJong went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Rockies.

Advice: DeJong gave the White Sox the lead on a two-run home run in the sixth and added an RBI single and a run scored in the eighth. This was the shortstop's second multi-hit game in a row, and he is now tied for second at the position in home runs on the season with 15. The 30-year-old is also hitting .241 with 34 RBI and 33 runs scored over 280 plate appearances in 2024. Rotowire.com Saturday, 3:54 pm

  • Enters free agency
Trejo cleared waivers Saturday and elected to become a free agent.

Advice: Trejo was jettisoned from the Rockies' 40-man roster Friday to make room for Aaron Schunk, and he'll now look for another opportunity elsewhere after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old has slashed just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances this season, and any offer he receives from another organization will almost certainly come in the form of a minor-league deal. • Alan Trejo refuses outright assignment on Saturday
Alan Trejo has elected free agency.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder was designated for assignment on Friday, but after passing through waivers unclaimed he refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Albuquerque and will instead peddle his wares on the open market. Trejo his just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances with the Rockies this season. Rotoworld Saturday, 2:23 pm

  • Paul DeJong powers White Sox to win over Rockies
Paul DeJong went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, two runs scored, and three RBI to power the White Sox to an 11-3 win over the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: With the game tied in the sixth inning, DeJong took Cal Quantrill deep for a two-run blast to give the White Sox the lead. He then knocked a base hit in the eighth to bring home a run and extend the lead and scored on a home run by Korey Lee. The 30-year-old shortstop is hitting .241/.286/.460 with 15 homers and 34 RBI across 280 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:56 pm

  • Three hits Friday
Rafaela started at shortstop and went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 9-2 loss to San Diego.

Advice: Rafaela is having a productive June, but he entered the game on a 1-for-18 run. The multi-hit effort was his eighth of the month, and the infielder/outfielder is batting .417 (20-for-48) over the last 13 games. This was his third start at shortstop in as many appearances, as manager Alex Cora adjusts to get his hottest bats in the lineup; Jarren Duran slotted in as the center field while David Hamilton manned second base Friday. • Sitting Saturday
Hamilton is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against San Diego, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: Hamilton went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in Friday's 9-2 loss to the Padres, and he'll begin Saturday's contest in the dugout. Ceddanne Rafaela will start at shortstop and bat ninth against San Diego right-hander Michael King. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:54 am

  • David Hamilton not in Saturday’s lineup vs. Padres
David Hamilton is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Padres.

Advice: Hamilton has hit a bit of a rough patch over the last few days with just four hits in 20 at-bats over his last seven games. He does have one homer and three steals during that span. The 26-year-old speedster has been one of the more unexpected first-half breakout performers from a fantasy standpoint with five homers and 21 steals in 55 games after batting .121 in a brief 15-game cameo last year in Boston. • Records fifth steal
Schuemann went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one stolen base in Friday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schuemann supplied a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the eighth. The 27-year-old has gone 21 games without a multi-hit effort since his 4-for-4 performance in Atlanta on June 1. He was hitting .266 after that game, but he's at .226 now while adding a .630 OPS, three home runs, 15 RBI, 26 runs scored and five steals across 61 contests. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:07 pm
