    • Perez has two-hit game in win Thursday
      Salvador Perez went 2-for-3 against the Guardians on Thursday.

      Advice: Perez has hit safely in four consecutive games. He’s seen his average drop from .321 at the end of May to .283. The Royals lineup desperately needs his bat to wake up again.     • Springer hits two home runs, drives in six in win
      George Springer went 3-for-6 with a double, two home runs and six RBI against the Yankees on Thursday.



      Advice: Springer took Carlos Rodon deep in each of the first two innings. He now has eight home runs on the season. Springer has certainly struggled this year with a .205 average and .618 OPS with 23 RBI on the year.

    • Sale strikes out 11 in hard-luck loss to former team
      Chris Sale struck out 11 over seven innings of one-run baseball, but picked up a loss Thursday as the White Sox beat Atlanta 1-0 in the first game of a doubleheader.

      Advice: Sale was facing his former team in the White Sox, and while he gets credited for the loss, it was a dominant effort for the 35-year-old. The only blemish came when he gave up a solo homer to Luis Robert Jr. in the first, and he allowed just three more hits while missing plenty of bats. It’s the third time Sale has picked up double-digit strikeouts — the 11 are a season high — and he’s now the owner of a 2.79 ERA and 118/17 K/BB over 15 starts. He gets the Giants next.     • Max Scherzer to start on Friday against Orioles
      Max Scherzer (thumb) will start on Friday against the Orioles.

      Advice: Scherzer came out of his season debut on Sunday with some relatively minor right thumb soreness, but it sounds like he’s ready to roll for his next outing on Friday evening at Camden Yards. The 39-year-old veteran was sharp last weekend in his season debut, striking out four over five scoreless frames against the Royals. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:59 pm
       
    • Crushes another leadoff shot
      Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the White Sox while also drawing two walks.

      Advice: For the second game in a row, Ohtani crushed a leadoff home run to open the contest, giving the superstar slugger 25 long balls on the season and 11 in the month of June. He's now homered in five of his last six games and has posted at least one RBI in 10 straight, raising his league-leading average to .322 on the campaign.       Mullins went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 4-2 victory versus the Guardians on Wednesday.

      Advice: Mullins broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning with a solo shot to right field. The outfielder finished with his fifth multi-hit effort over his past seven contests, a span in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with two homers, four RBI and seven runs.     • Shohei Ohtani slugs solo homer in win over White Sox
      Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two walks, and two runs scored in the Dodgers’ 4-0 win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

      Advice: Ohtani took Erick Fedde deep to lead off the first inning, setting a Dodgers record with an RBI in 10 straight games. He then drew a walk in the third and scored on a double by Freddie Freeman. Ohtani walked once again in the seventh to reach for the third time. The 29-year-old superstar is slashing .322/.402/.643 with 25 homers, 65 runs scored, 61 RBI, and 16 steals across 360 plate appearances as we reach the midway point of the season.     • Fans career-high 10 in win
      Arrighetti (4-6) picked up the win Wednesday, scattering three hits over seven scoreless innings in a 7-1 victory over the Rockies. He struck out 10 without walking a batter.

      Advice: The rookie right-hander put together the best effort of his brief career, setting a new career high in Ks while generating an eye-popping 35 called or swinging strikes among his 89 pitches. The quality start was only Arrighetti's second in 14 trips to the mound this season, but he has given up three runs or less in six of his last seven outings, posting a 4.18 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 39:18 K:BB through 32.1 innings over that stretch.       Spencer Arrighetti struck out 10 over seven shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Arrighetti put together the strongest outing of his rookie campaign yet on Wednesday afternoon at Minute Maid Park, scattering three hits over seven scoreless frames, while recording his first-ever double-digit strikeout performance. The 24-year-old top pitching prospect generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a near-elite 39 percent CSW. It’s notable that this unexpectedly brilliant effort comes after he was torched by the White Sox and Tigers, respectively, in his previous two outings. There’s definitely some streaming appeal here for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues, but he’s been the quintessential boom-or-bust dice roll over the last few weeks.
