    • Hunter Brown struggles against Twins on Saturday
      Hunter Brown allowed seven runs with five strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Twins on Saturday.

      Advice: Brown had quite the forgettable day on the mound as he surrendered seven runs to the Twins. The seven runs matched the total runs he’s allowed over his last eight starts combined. Three hits, a hit batter, and a sacrifice fly brought two runs in to score in the first. Minnesota brought three more runs in on four hits and a walk in the second. And Brooks Lee would hit a two-run homer in the third. Brown worked three more scoreless innings before his day was done at 105 pitches. The 25-year-old right-hander will take a 4.48 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 100/36 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings into a start against the Rangers in Houston on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 1:51 pm

      De La Cruz went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

      Advice: It marked the first time since June 16 that the 22-year-old drew multiple free passes, while the stolen base was his league-leading 43rd of the year -- 15 ahead of second-place Brice Turang. De La Cruz can be streaky, but he's red hot right now, slashing .352/.417/.704 over his last 13 games with 10 extra-base hits (four doubles, three triples and three homers), six steals, eight RBI and 13 runs.       Michael Lorenzen pitched around five walks to shut out the Rays for five innings in the Rangers’ 3-0 victory Friday.

      Advice: Lorenzen surrendered just one hit, a double off the bat of Brandon Lowe. It wound up being a three-hit shutout for the Rangers’ pitching staff, with José Leclerc, Jacob Latz, David Robertson and Kirby Yates combining to finish the effort. Lorenzen is now 5-4 with a 3.21 ERA. It will be interesting to see if the Rangers choose to move him with Tyler Mahle, Cody Bradford and Jacob deGrom all seemingly on the way back.       Advice: Lorenzen's control was shaky and nearly cost him a scoreless outing when he walked the bases loaded in the fifth inning, but he managed to escape the jam. He's thrown exactly five innings in three straight starts and has walked nine batters over his last two outings.       Advice: This was a pivotal game for the Braves as they try to claw their way back into the NL East race and Fried simply did not have it. He lived in the heart of the zone and the Phillies made him pay time and time again. They had base runners in five out of six innings and looked incredibly comfortable in the box all night.       Aaron Nola allowed three earned runs across six innings in a win Friday against the Braves. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

      Advice: Nola was fantastic in this one. His 21 swings-and-misses were the most he’s forced in a game this season and first time he’s hit that total since June 5th of last year.       Advice: Nola got through three shutout frames before coughing up a two-run shot to Austin Riley in the fourth inning. Ozzie Albies then knocked a solo homer in the sixth. It was the first time that Nola gave up multiple home runs since May 31, and he allowed just three in the entire month of June. He forced a season-high 21 swinging strikes Friday, with 10 coming on the knuckle curve. Nola has delivered a quality start in nine of his last 10 outings, including in four straight. During that 10-start stretch, the veteran righty has posted a 3.34 ERA while going 6-2. Nola will carry a 3.48 ERA into his next outing, which is currently lined up to be at home against the Dodgers.
