• Detmers allows five runs in loss Saturday
Reid Detmers allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Detmers gave up four hits, walked four and struck out three. He continues to struggle as he’s now allowed at least four runs in seven of his last eight starts. Detmers hasn’t won a game since winning his first three starts of the season. His ERA is now the worst it’s been all year at 6.14. The 24-year-old left-hander is set to face the Astros at home next week, but he’s best left on the bench until further notice. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 pm
  • Throws 6.1 shutout innings in win
Lorenzen (3-3) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over 6.1 shutout innings.

Advice: After allowing the first two hitters he faced to reach base, Lorenzen settled in and held the Marlins in check for his fourth straight quality start. Lorenzen has gone at least six innings in eight of his nine starts this season and now owns a 2.96 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 44:26 K:BB through 54.2 innings. Lorenzen offers eligibility at starting pitcher and relief pitcher and will look to stay hot in a home matchup against the Giants next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:48 pm
  • Tagged for seven runs
Brooks allowed seven runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Saturday. He struck out one.

Advice: Five of the seven runs charged to Brooks came in Atlanta's six-run fifth inning. The 34-year-old right-hander, who is still looking for his first win of the season, now sports a 5.82 ERA with a 1.62 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB over 21.2 innings -- he came into the day with a 3.63 ERA through his first three starts. Brooks will look for a better result in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week at home versus Toronto. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:03 pm
  • Michael Kopech allows unearned run in loss to MIL
Michael Kopech allowed an unearned run while striking out two and picking up a loss Saturday to the Brewers.

Advice: The run doesn’t get charged to Kopech because it was the “zombie runner” that was placed on second base to begin the bottom of the 10th. He still gets the loss with Willy Adames singling in William Contreras to give the Brewers a win and the White Sox their 10th straight loss. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:19 pm
  • Michael Lorenzen blanks Marlins over 6 1/3 in win
Michael Lorenzen didn’t give up a run while firing 6 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts to help the Rangers to a 7-0 rout of the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Lorenzen exited his last start with a trainer, but the injury didn’t appear to affect him whatsoever. The right-hander scattered five hits and issued just two walks in an impressive outing even when considering the lackluster opponent. Lorenzen has been able to work at least six innings in seven of his eight starts, and he’s posted a very strong 2.96 ERA in the process. That’ll play. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:06 pm
  • Alec Marsh surrenders five in loss to Padres
Alec Marsh went five innings while allowing five runs in a loss Saturday to the Padres.

Advice: Marsh, 26, dealt with control and command issues in this one, as he allowed seven hits, three walks and threw 49-of-80 pitches for strikes. It makes back-to-back outings where the right-hander has allowed five earned runs, but he pitched much better against Minnesota on Monday than this outing. Marsh gets a chance to rebound next weekend against Seattle in Kansas City. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:52 pm

  • Randy Vasquez coughs up three runs in victory
Randy Vasquez struck out five while allowing three runs over five innings in a win over the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Vasquez allowed four hits and one walk. All three runs allowed came on hits by Vinnie Pasquantino, as he hit a two-run homer and RBI single off the right-hander. Outside of that the 25-year-old was relatively effective, and good enough for a win with seven runs of run support. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:52 pm

Overall, his ERA is up to 3.76 on the season with a 1.15 WHIP and 46:17 K:BB across 55 innings. The 25-year-old Marsh will look to get back on track in his next start, currently slated for next week at home versus the Mariners. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:43 pm

Brooks has also allowed at least seven hits in three of his four starts this year. His ERA is now 5.82 on the season. The 34-year-old right-hander is not recommended for his next start against the Blue Jays at home next weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:31 pm
