• Swipes bag Monday
Tatis went 1-for-5 with a run and a stolen base in Monday's 6-3 win against the Cubs.

Advice: Tatis helped generate San Diego's first run, reaching on a leadoff single in the sixth inning, advancing to second on another single, then taking part in a double steal with Jake Cronenworth before both players scored on a Jurickson Profar hit. Tatis has been somewhat quiet at the plate this season, but he's still been moderately productive with a .248/.327/.442 slash line, seven homers, 20 RBI, 28 runs and five stolen bases through 168 plate appearances. He's gone 7-for-23 with a homer, a steal, six runs and three RBI through the first five games of May. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
  • Athletics option Dany Jiménez to Triple-A
Athletics optioned RHP Dany Jiménez to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Advice: The 30-year-old reliever will head down to the minors after making 15 appearances with the Athletics where he posted a 3.68 ERA, 1.50 WHIP with a 11/13 K/BB ratio across 14 2/3 innings. Jiménez is 0-for-2 with his save opportunities this season, which is something that may have been a factor in the organization’s decision to send him down to the minors. • Resuming mound work
Bachman (shoulder) is scheduled to throw off a mound Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Bachman underwent shoulder surgery last October and had his rehab halted by back spasms in late April. However, the back issue appears to have subsided, allowing the right-hander to resume working toward a return to game action. Bachman is likely to need a multi-week rehab assignment in the minors before the Angels consider bringing him up to the big-league club. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

  • Pitches well in rehab start
Megill (shoulder) struck out seven over four scoreless innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Megill didn't give up a hit, walked one and threw 62 pitches over his four frames. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza had indicated previously that it could be Megill's last rehab start, and he certainly looks to have passed the test. However, whether he'll go back into the Mets' rotation or remain at Syracuse has not yet been determined. The Mets could use a six-man rotation for a while, or Megill could potentially replace Jose Butto, who is starting Tuesday for the big club. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

  • Athletics designate Lazaro Amenteros for assignment
Athletics designated OF Lazaro Amenteros for assignment.

Advice: The 24-year-old will hit waivers after a rough start at the minor league level in Las Vegas. Amenteros slashed just .133/.278/.250 with 37 strikeouts in his 72 plate appearances. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago
  • Goes deep Monday
Neto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to Pittsburgh.

Advice: Batting out of the No. 9 slot in the order, Neto produced the Angels' only run of the game with his sixth-inning solo shot to center field. It was the third homer of the campaign for the shortstop, all of which have come over his past 11 games. Neto was batting just .167 after an 0-for-3 effort April 21, but he's turned things around since, slashing .356/.370/.667 over his past 13 contests. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Sent to minors
The Athletics optioned Jimenez to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Advice: The right-hander began the season in a high-leverage role and didn't give up an earned run in his first five appearances, but he has a 5.40 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 9:8 K:BB over his past 10 innings. Six of those walks came in Jimenez's past four outings, and he'll head to Triple-A to work on his command. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

  • Jettisoned from 40-man roster
Armenteros was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Armenteros was a lauded signee out of Cuba back in 2016 but has struggled to hit with any consistency since entering the A's organization. In his first taste of Triple-A Las Vegas this season, the 24-year-old has slashed only .133/.278/.250 with a 51.4 percent strikeout rate. Armenteros' removal from the 40-man roster clears space for Tyler Ferguson. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago
  • Twins send Josh Winder on rehab assignment
Twins sent RHP Josh Winder (shoulder) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Winder appears to be progressing nicely and could return to the Twins’ roster soon if all goes well with this rehab start. He had a rough go in his last rehab assignment with Single-A Fort Myers when he allowed four earned runs across 3 2/3 innings of work. He was able to strike out eight batters in that start, but the 27-year-old will need a better outing before he can return to the majors. Rotoworld Today, 8:58 am
