• Filling bench role Monday
Black is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Advice: After being called up from Triple-A Nashville last Tuesday, Black worked in a reserve role for his MLB debut that day but proceeded to start at first base or designated hitter in each of the Brewers' subsequent four contests. Black went 2-for-15 with seven strikeouts over those four starts, but the Brewers will likely give him some more time to right the ship as an everyday player, at least against right-handed pitching. The lefty-hitting Black will hit the bench against Royals southpaw Cole Ragans on Monday. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

  • Pablo Reyes sent outright to Triple-A by Boston
Red Sox sent INF Pablo Reyes outright to Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Reyes was designated for assignment and went unclaimed. The 30-year-old could elect free agency, but he also has the option to just report back to the minors to provide organizational depth. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

  • Nolan Gorman sitting out again Monday vs. Mets
Nolan Gorman is not in the lineup Monday against the Mets.

Advice: Gorman will sit for a second-consecutive game with left-hander Jose Quintana on the mound. Jose Fermin is getting the start at the keystone while leading off against Quintana and the Metropolitans. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Remains in organization
Reyes cleared waivers and was outright to Triple-A Worcester by the Red Sox on Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Reyes no longer has a spot on the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization as utility depth. He's put up just a .183/.234/.217 batting line over 61 plate appearances with the big club in 2024. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

  • Back in action Monday
Lopez (adductor) will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Lopez was held out of the lineup for Sunday's 5-1 win over the Cardinals with adductor soreness, but the injury was apparently just a minor concern. After serving as the White Sox's leadoff hitter in each of his last 12 starts, the lefty-hitting Lopez will drop the bottom of the order Monday, likely because Chicago is opposing a southpaw in Tyler Alexander. • May begin rehab assignment this week
Urshela (hamstring) could join Triple-A Toledo this week to begin a rehab assignment, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Urshela remained with the Tigers for Monday's series opener in Cleveland and was spotted doing some pregame running on the field in what McCosky describes as a potential final test before the third baseman is cleared for a rehab assignment. Before landing on the 10-day injured list April 20, Urshela slashed .298/.310/.333 over 58 plate appearances with the Tigers. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Luis Rengifo scratched on Monday
Luis Rengifo was scratched from the Angels lineup on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was originally penciled in at second base and hitting sixth in the order. However, he has been replaced by Brandon Drury. According to Jeff Fletcher of the SoCal News Group, Rengifo is no longer sick, so we’ll have to wait and hear the reason for him being replaced. Rotoworld Today, 12:14 pm

  • Matt Vierling hitting third for Tigers on Monday
Matt Vierling is starting at 3B and hitting third for the Tigers on Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: Vierling has bounced around the lineup over the last week but never hitting below fifth in the order. With Wenceel Perez still out with an illness, Vierling will get a chance to hit third against right-hander Triston McKenzie. Vierling is off to a strong start this year, slashing .287/.313/.457 with three home runs, 14 runs, and 11 RBI in 99 plate appearances. He’s chasing less out of the strike zone but being more aggressive in the strike zone which has led to increased contact rates. He’s also pulling and lifting the ball more, which has helped him register an 8.2 percent barrel rate. We might not be seeing a full-on breakout, but his success has not been flukey.
