    • Swipes two bags Friday
Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases Friday in a 3-1 win against Atlanta.

Advice: Bogaerts doubled his season stolen-base total with a swipe of second in each of the fifth and eighth innings. Prior to Friday, the second baseman's most recent theft took place April 22. Bogaerts has had a subpar start to the season with a .220/.268/.319 slash line through 194 plate appearances, but he's begin to come on of late, batting .350 with two homers and two RBI during his current five-game hitting streak. • Xander Bogaerts swipes two bases against Braves
Xander Bogaerts collected two singles and two steals versus the Braves on Friday.

Advice: The least struggling hitters can do is steal a few bases for those rostering them in fantasy leagues. Bogaerts doubled his steal total for the season tonight, collecting two in a game for the first time since last May 5. He now has 12 two-steal games in his career, which is kind of impressive because he has just 81 career steals. He has only eight two-homer games, though he’s totaled 179 homers in his 12 seasons. • Three hits in win
Perez went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Perez opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and got one base three more times in Friday's victory. The veteran catcher is batting .294 (15-for-51) with seven extra-base hits and eight RBI contests in May. That's actually down from his overall numbers -- Perez is slashing a stellar .335/.403/.557 with eight home runs, 34 RBI, 18 runs scored and 11 doubles over 176 plate appearances. He last hit above .300 for a full season in the abbreviated 2020 campaign, so there is a high risk that he cools off eventually in 2024, but he's been excellent over the first quarter of the season. • Emmanuel Clase locks down Twins for save
Emmanuel Clase worked a clean ninth inning and struck out one Twin to tie the league-lead with 13 saves.

Advice: Clase has been unhittable this season allowing just one earned run across 22 ⅓ innings. He’s changed up his approach, throwing more cutters and working outside the zone more often. It’s generating significantly more chases. He’s firmly one of the best closers in baseball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:46 pm
    • Locks up 13th save
Clase picked up the save Friday against Minnesota. He pitched a clean inning with one strikeout.

Advice: Clase required only 13 pitches to retire the side in order for the save Friday night. The 26-year-old closer is riding a streak of eight straight scoreless appearances, allowing just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts and five saves over eight innings. Clase remains among the game's most elite closers, sporting a 0.42 ERA over 22.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:42 pm
    • Alec Bohm drives in run as Phillies beat Nationals
Alec Bohm clubbed an RBI double on Friday as the Phillies defeated the Nationals in Philadelphia.

Advice: Bohm opened the scoring in the home half of the first inning, plating J.T. Realmuto with his run-scoring double off of Nationals’ right-hander Jake irvin. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. For the season, the 27-year-old slugger is now hitting a robust .331/.397/.521 with four long balls, 37 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. • Scheduled for rehab assignment
Maeda (illness) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: Maeda has been dealing with a viral illness that landed him on the IL on May 11. He began throwing off the mound Wednesday, and he'll make a rehab start with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Barring any setback, that would put Maeda in line to return for May 24 against the Blue Jays. The 36-year-old right-hander is 1-1 over seven starts this season with a 6.75 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB over 30.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:30 pm

    • Kenta Maeda (illness) to make rehab start Sunday
Kenta Maeda (illness) will make a minor league rehab start at Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

Advice: It remains unclear whether or not he’ll require any additional rehab outings after that first one to get back into the swing of things. Maeda has been disastrous in his first season with the Tigers so far, posting a 6.75 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 23/10 K/BB ratio across 30 2/3 innings through his first seven starts. • Happ moves into the No. 2 hole Friday
Ian Happ will bat second for the Cubs on Friday.

Advice: With Seiya Suzuki getting the day off, Happ will occupy the No. 2 spot in the order for the Cubs. He hit a solo home run on Thursday, but now draws a tough assignment against Pirates top pitching prospect Paul Skenes on Friday afternoon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:33 am
