    • Goes deep again Friday
Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: Ohtani reclaimed a share of the major-league lead in homers with his 13th long ball of the year, which came off Frankie Montas in the third inning. Over his last 12 games, Ohtani's slugged six homers with 12 RBI and seven multi-hit efforts. He's slashing an electrifying .358/.426/.676 with 32 RBI, 36 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 16 doubles and a triple through 204 plate appearances while occupying the No. 2 spot in the Dodgers' stacked lineup. • Decent in no-decision
Paxton allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out two without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Paxton did fine, though he gave up solo home runs to Stuart Fairchild and Tyler Stephenson to account for two of the three runs on his line. After posting just one quality start over five outings in April, Paxton has settled in with three in a row to begin May. The southpaw has done well at run prevention this year with a 2.84 ERA despite a 1.38 WHIP and 24:24 K:BB through 44.1 innings over eight starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:52 pm
    • Shohei Ohtani swats 13th homer of season in win
Shohei Ohtani hit a two-run homer to help the Dodgers prevail 7-3 over the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Ohtani scored twice in the contest. It’s the 13th homer for the 29-year-old, and it came in the third inning with Mookie Betts on base. His first season with the Dodgers have been nothing short of spectacular, as he’s now slashing .358/.426/.676 with 32 RBI to go with those roundtrippers. It’s borderline impossible to offer hyperbole when discussing how good Ohtani is at baseball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:40 pm

    • Paxton has Quality Start vs. Reds, but no-decision
James Paxton held the Reds to three runs over six innings but picked up no decision Friday.

Advice: The southpaw allowed seven hits, and while he didn’t issue a walk, he also only finished with a pair of strikeouts. The 35-year-old allowed a pair of homers in the game — both solo shots by Tyler Stephenson and Stuart Fairchild — and saw his ERA tick up to 2.84 despite picking up a Quality Start. Paxton has mostly looked the part in 2024, and while there are injury concerns and always will be, there’s plenty of reason to roster him in fantasy while he’s able to get on the bump. • Beginning assignment Tuesday
Manager Brian Snitker said Murphy (oblique) will likely begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Murphy has been on the injured list since Opening Day, but he has now been cleared to test his strained left oblique in a competitive environment. Considering the 29-year-old backstop has missed nearly two months, he will likely require an extended stay in the minors, but he should reclaim his role as Atlanta's everyday catcher once he returns. • Jeremy Peña hits three-run blast in win over MIL
Jeremy Peña hit a three-run homer to help the Astros to a 5-4 win over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Peña came up huge for the Astros with a three-run homer off Freddy Peralta that gave the Astros their 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. The shortstop has enjoyed a strong first six-plus weeks of the season, as he’s gone deep five times while slashing .326/.364/.469. This is the version of Peña fantasy managers were hoping to see in 2023. So far, so good in 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Hunter Brown allows four in win over Brewers
Hunter Brown gave up four runs in five innings but still picked up the win Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: Brown allows four hits — two of them homers, including a three-run homer by Joey Ortiz — and he walked three while striking out five. It’s another mediocre start from the right-hander, and mediocre seems to be pretty kind at this stage. It’s never a good sign when five innings of four-run baseball sees your ERA drop to 7.71. That being said, it was good enough for the win Friday, and it’s the first of the season for Brown. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:54 pm

    • Down in five spot Friday
Machado will start at third base and bat fifth in Friday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: It's only the second time over the past nine seasons that Machado has batted lower than cleanup. The 31-year-old is in the middle of a 2-for-30 stretch at the plate to drop his season batting line to .222/.276/.346. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:10 pm
    • Held out again Friday
Nimmo (illness) remains out of the lineup for Friday's contest in Miami.

Advice: Nimmo was a late scratch from Thursday's lineup due to a stomach bug and he's evidently still not feeling well enough to play. With Nimmo resting, the Mets will go with Tyrone Taylor in left field and in the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:52 pm
