Three of McMahon's five homers this year have come in the last eight games, and the power surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .319/.407/.513 with 13 runs and 19 RBI in 32 contests.       Ryan McMahon went 2-for-5 and hit his fifth homer Friday against the Pirates.

      Advice: Both hits were against a lefty in Martín Pérez. If McMahon were on a better team, he’d probably be a platoon player at this point, as he was bad against lefties in 2022 and even worse last season.       Advice: Castro wound up a homer shy of a cycle Wednesday while recording his fifth multi-hit game during his current eight-game hitting streak. He's gone 16-for-35 (.457) over the course of the streak, boosting his slash line to .270/.339/.450 through 30 games this year. The 27-year-old Castro added two homers, 13 runs scored, 12 RBI and three stolen bases while serving as the Twins' primary third baseman in the absence of Royce Lewis (quadriceps).     • Ryan McMahon reaches three times in loss Wednesday
      Ryan McMahon doubled and drew a pair of walks on Wednesday night as the Rockies fell to the Marlins in Miami.

      Advice: McMahon worked a two-out walk off of Roddery Munoz in the opening inning and went to third on a single by Elias Diaz, but the Rockies couldn’t cash him in. He then smacked a one-out double in the sixth inning that pushed Brenton Doyle to third base and helped contribute to the Rockies’ lone run on the day.       Willi Castro went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and a stolen base Wednesday as the Twins took down the White Sox 10-5.

      Advice: Castro has really warmed up, going 16-for-35 with eight RBI in his last eight games. That’s raised his OPS from .538 to 789. He was in line to lose playing time due to Carlos Correa’s return, but the hot streak has changed that, and now that Byron Buxton is down, there’s little doubt that Castro will stay in the lineup for a while.       McMahon went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Marlins.

      Advice: McMahon got the Rockies on the board with an RBI single in the first inning before driving in a second run with a double in the 10th. The 29-year-old McMahon now has hits in six straight games, going 8-for-23 with two doubles and two home runs in that span, on the heels of a 1-for-14 stretch.       Advice: Bregman has been off to a slow start this season but has improved of late, as he's collected six hits in his last 23 at-bats. He also slugged his first home run of the season Tuesday. While Bregman has only a .078 ISO in 113 plate appearances this season, he's striking out at just a 12.4 percent clip, meaning his .216 average should continue to rise.       Advice: The Astros found themselves down 3-0 after the first inning, but Bregman’s 426-foot blast, which marked his first homer of the season, drew things even at 3-3. It’s been a slow start to the season for Bregman, who entered the day slashing .216/.287/.268. He’s hit safely in four of his last five games and could be on the verge of finally heating up.       Advice: McMahon roped a 100.6 mph double and a 97.5 mph single on the day and continues to swing the bat well this season. He’s slashing .321/.397/.495 on the year and now has 18 RBI.
