• Quiet in return
Arenado went 1-for-8 over both games of Wednesday's doubleheader versus Atlanta.

Advice: Arenado played all 18 innings Wednesday at third base in his return from a left forearm injury. He didn't make much of an impact at the plate, but it's encouraging to see the 33-year-old play both halves of the twin bill. He's down to a .254/.310/.364 slash line with six home runs, 32 RBI, 26 runs scored and one stolen base over 73 contests this year. The Cardinals have occasionally used Brandon Crawford and Brendan Donovan at the hot corner, and they could continue to be an option there if Arenado is out of the lineup or limited to designated hitter at any point in the future, as his forearm issue is believed to be a lingering one. • X-rays on heel negative
X-rays on Sheets' left heel came back negative after he was removed early from Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Advice: The White Sox are now labeling Sheets' injury as a bruise, and he's considered day-to-day. It's possible the team holds him out for a game or two as a precaution, but he shouldn't be in line for an extended absence. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

  • Gavin Sheets (heel) considered day-to-day
Gavin Sheets is considered day-to-day after X-rays on his injured heel came back negative on Friday.

Advice: Sheets was pulled from Wednesday night’s battle against the Dodgers after jamming his left heel while rounding second base after his double. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the White Sox give him a day off on Thursday, but don’t expect the 28-year-old slugger to require any sort of extended absence. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Managing injured heel
Sheets was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers due to a jammed left heel.

Advice: The severity of Sheets' injury remains unknown, but he is being further evaluated, and the White Sox should offer an update on his status in the near future. The 28-year-old has been heating up at the plate recently, going 8-for-22 in his last six games heading into Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Today, 6:47 pm

  • Alec Burleson doubles twice in win over Braves
Alec Burleson went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in the Cardinals’ 4-1 win over the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: With two runners on and two outs in the third inning, Burleson brought both runners in to score on a double off Bryce Elder. He doubled once again in the eighth for his second hit of the game. The 25-year-old outfielder is slashing .289/.321/.478 with 12 homers, 36 RBI, and five steals across 264 plate appearances. • Gavin Sheets leaves game with jammed left heel
Gavin Sheets was removed from Wednesday’s ballgame against the Dodgers due to a jammed left heel.

Advice: The severity of the injury — as well as how much time (if any) Sheets may miss — are not yet known. He’ll head for further evaluation and the White Sox should have an update on his status at some point before Thursday’s battle against the Braves. Rotoworld Today, 6:36 pm

  • Gunnar Henderson smashes 26th home run
Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Wednesday against the Guardians.

Advice: This man is a revelation. He drove in the Orioles’ only runs until the seventh inning in this game. His 26 home runs trail only Aaron Judge. He joined Judge, Shohei Ohtani, and Juan Soto as the only players with an OPS over 1.000. He also has 13 stolen bases, 70 runs scored, and 57 RBI while playing elite shortstop defense. This is the definition of a superstar and potential face of the league. Rotoworld Today, 6:11 pm

  • Jhonkensy Noel homers in first MLB at-bat
Jhonkensy Noel went 1-for-4 with his first major league homer run on Wednesday against the Orioles.

Advice: What a moment for Noel to send one over the fence in his first at-bat as a big leaguer. He put up 18 homers, a .578 slugging percentage, and had three batted balls over 115 MPH in 65 games at AAA this year, so power is his calling card. Josh Naylor is the Guardians’ every day first baseman, but David Fry has faltered in June and played a good bit of corner outfield and catcher along with being the Guardians’ usual DH. Noel may have an opportunity to prove himself over the next few weeks. Rotoworld Today, 6:10 pm

  • Three hits in Wednesday's win
Diaz went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Rockies.

Advice: The 25-year-old backstop extended his hitting streak to seven games, a stretch in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with seven RBI. Diaz has yet to go yard since taking a foul tip off his finger and missing a few games earlier this month, but his current hot stretch has pushed his slash line on the season up to .271/.298/.415 with seven homers, 32 runs and 40 RBI in 69 contests.
