• Three hits in Thursday's win
Brown went 3-for-6 with a double, a stolen base and three runs scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Advice: Brown didn't get much of a chance to drive in runs Thursday -- the first three batters in the Athletics' order went a combined 2-for-16 with two walks. Brown made up for it by hitting well and serving as the spark to get the Oakland offense going. He also scored the winning run in a frantic 11th-inning comeback. The outfielder's three-hit effort marked his fifth straight game with at least one hit, a stretch that's raised his slash line to .206/.254/.357 for the year. He's added five home runs, three steals, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored over 134 plate appearances. Brown has often found a spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitchers, but there will be a bit more pressure for him to perform with Daz Cameron called up Thursday to add to the Athletics' outfield depth. • Logs three hits, steal in win
Schuemann went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Advice: Facing a four-run deficit in the bottom of the 11th inning, Schuemann sparked the Athletics' rally with an RBI double before scoring on Abraham Toro's single. Through 19 games in May, Schuemann is batting .317 (19-for-60) with five extra-base hits and six RBI. The 26-year-old is up to a .262/.344/.381 slash line with two home runs, three steals, nine RBI and 11 runs scored over 96 plate appearances. Schuemann should continue to start at shortstop, filling in for Darell Hernaiz (ankle), who is on the 60-day injured list and not eligible to return until July. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

  • Gets aboard five times
McCann went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two walks and one run scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Advice: McCann had gone just 3-for-18 over his previous eight contests before a breakout game Thursday. The backup catcher has generally played well in 2024, posting a .340/.431/.580 slash line over 58 plate appearances. He's added three home runs, three doubles, eight RBI and nine runs scored, but the 26-year-old remains firmly behind Shea Langeliers on the depth chart. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Registers steal
Happ went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Happ is batting just .221 (15-for-68) in May, but he's also recorded both of his steals for the year this month. The veteran outfielder has a career-worst .652 OPS and .218 batting average over 46 contests while adding two home runs, 14 RBI and 23 runs scored. While he's struggling to find a rhythm at the plate, Happ continues to hold down a starting job in left field. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Records third steal
Albies went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Albies is hitting well, going 11-for-40 (.275) over his last 10 games, though he has just one extra-base hit, a double, in that span. The second baseman is slashing .269/.330/.388 with three home runs, three steals, 23 RBI, 22 runs scored and 10 doubles over 39 contests on the year. He's locked into a starting role, but the lack of counting stats is a small concern for a player that has hit 20-plus homers four times in the last six years. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago

  • Perez knocks in Tigers lone run Thursday
Wenceel Perez went 1-for-4 with an RBI against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: To say it was a quiet night for the Tigers offense would be an understatement. Detroit failed to record an extra-base hit on the night. Perez singled in the sixth inning to drive in Javier Baez and Carson Kelly was thrown out at home by Kevin Kiermaier on the same play. Perez has been the lone bright spot in the Tigers order recently. He’s hitting .295 with an .859 OPS and 14 RBI since his April call to the majors. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

  • Varsho blasts ninth home run Thursday
Daulton Varsho went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Varsho came to the plate in a tie game in the seventh inning and hit a two-run home run off Tigers starter Jack Flaherty that put the Blue Jays ahead for good. Varsho is hitting just .213 this year, but he has five stolen bases to go with nine home runs and 27 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 6:30 pm

  • Guerrero Jr. hits fifth home run Thursday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Guerrero Jr. scored on a Justin Turner double in the eighth inning and then homered in a 7-1 game in the ninth. The home run was his fifth of the season and he now has 24 RBI. Guerrero Jr. is up to .282 with a .799 OPS this year. Rotoworld Today, 6:26 pm
  • Hits third homer
Kelenic went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Kelenic opened the scoring in the fifth inning, taking Hayden Wesneski deep. This was Kelenic's third straight game with a hit, and all three of his homers this year have come over his last 11 contests, a span in which he's hitting .222 (8-for-36). The outfielder is at a .248/.293/.376 slash line with eight RBI, 11 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 116 plate appearances. He is likely to remain limited to a strong-side platoon role in left field, sharing the position with Adam Duvall, unless either outfielder goes on an extended hot streak. Rotowire.com Today, 6:18 pm
