• Civale solid in loss to Nationals Saturday
Aaron Civale allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Civale gave up six hits, walked four and struck out two. CJ Abrams homered to start the game, but Civale was pretty solid after that. He’s actually been quite a bit better than his 5.07 ERA on the season suggests given his 4.06 xFIP. Civale could be a decent buy low candidate. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rangers on the road next week.

  • Tobias Myers gets quality start, no-decision
Tobias Myers went six innings while allowing three runs and not factoring into the decision Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Myers dealt with quite a bit of traffic Saturday, as he allowed seven hits and also issued a pair of walks. He was able to work around that traffic for the most part, thanks largely to six strikeouts and a couple of double plays. The 25-year-old gave up a two-run homer to Michael Busch in the first, but it was (mostly) smooth sailing from that point on. Myers does see his ERA jump up to 3.26, but that’s still a very solid number for the right-handed hurler. He faces Colorado next, and it’s worth pointing out that start will take place in Denver. • Harris gives up 10 hits in loss to Diamondbacks
Hogan Harris allowed three runs in 3 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Harris gave up 10 hits, walked one and struck out three. He’s fortunate to have a 3.18 ERA given his xFIP is 4.65. Harris is far off the fantasy radar. The 27-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles at home next week.

  • Carson Spiers solid in win over Cardinals
Carson Spiers allowed two runs -- one earned -- with four strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Spiers put together a solid start against the Cardinals on Saturday to earn his second win of the season. A double and a single to start the third inning would bring an unearned run in to score after a dropped foul pop error. Paul Goldschmidt took Spiers deep for a solo shot in the sixth for the second run before Spiers closed out the sixth inning for a quality start. He struck out four. The 26-year-old right-hander has been excellent for Cincinnati, posting a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 29/7 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Tigers at home on Friday. • Added to roster
The Cardinals selected Graceffo's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Advice: Graceffo has posted a 3.84 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 70:29 K:BB across 75 frames with Memphis this season. All 14 of his appearances have been starts, and while it's possible he'll get a look in the rotation eventually with the Cardinals, the plan for now is to break him in as a reliever. Graceffo will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:20 pm
  • Cardinals promote Gordon Graceffo for MLB debut
Cardinals selected the contract of RHP Gordon Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Graceffo, who is in the majors for the first time at age 24, will likely see innings behind Andre Pallante tonight, but whether he sticks around afterwards could depend on just how many innings that becomes. He comes into this having won his last four Triple-A starts and not giving up a run in the last two. Overall, he had a 3.84 ERA and a 70/29 K/BB in 75 innings. Rotoworld Friday, 12:13 pm
  • Cardinals calling up Gordon Graceffo on Friday
The Athletic’s Katie Woo reports the Cardinals are calling up pitching prospect Gordon Graceffo.

Advice: Graceffo will provide the Cardinals with some length out of the bullpen heading into Friday’s game against the Reds behind starter Andre Pallante. The 24-year-old righty has compiled a solid 3.84 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 70/29 K/BB ratio across 75 innings (14 starts) this season for Triple-A Memphis. There isn’t a ton of appeal here for fantasy managers, but he’s a notable pitching prospect, and could find his way into a more prominent role if he excels in long relief. Rotoworld Friday, 3:11 am
  • Headed for majors
The Cardinals intend to promote Graceffo to the majors Friday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Cardinals have gotten short outings from Kyle Gibson and Miles Mikolas in the last two days, so Graceffo will begin his big-league career out of the bullpen. It's possible that changes as the season progresses, as Graceffo has been used exclusively as a starter this season at Triple-A Memphis and for nearly the entirety of his minor-league career. He's maintained a 3.84 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with Memphis but has a solid 70:29 K:BB across 75 frames and also has good prospect pedigree. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:18 pm
  • Crushes another leadoff shot
Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the White Sox while also drawing two walks.

Advice: For the second game in a row, Ohtani crushed a leadoff home run to open the contest, giving the superstar slugger 25 long balls on the season and 11 in the month of June. He's now homered in five of his last six games and has posted at least one RBI in 10 straight, raising his league-leading average to .322 on the campaign. Ohtani has also drawn at least one walk in six consecutive games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:48 am
