• Joey Loperfido doubles twice in Astros’ win
Joey Loperfido went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI as the Astros topped the Orioles 14-11 on Friday.

Advice: That’s a pretty good return to the majors. Both of Loperfido’s doubles actually came in the same inning, as the Astros came through with nine runs in the sixth. The Orioles actually responded with seven runs in the eighth, but it wasn’t quite enough in this one. Loperfido is batting .372/.413/,512 in 16 games as a major leaguer, and since the Astros seem posted to play him regularly against right-handers, he’s worth rostering in all formats at the moment. • Headed for injured list
Toro suffered a strained hamstring Friday and will be placed on the injured list, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Toro was held out of the lineup earlier in the week with a shoulder issue and returned to the lineup Friday. He suffered an unrelated hamstring injury and will now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. Tyler Nevin and Aledmys Diaz figure to see increased playing time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:27 pm

  • Luis Garcia Jr. homers and steals base in victory
Luis Garcia Jr. homered and stole a base in a blowout win over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Garcia Jr. hit a three-run blast off a wildly ineffective Dakota Hudson in the third to give Washington a 5-0 lead. That’s his sixth homer of the season while the swipe puts him into double digits with 10 thus far in 2024. It’s been a solid — if unspectacular — first half thus far for Garcia Jr. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:42 pm
  • Drew Millas homers, reaches four times in rout
Drew Millas went 3-for-4 with a homer in a victory over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: A rare big day at the plate for Millas, but this is an exception on a night where the Nationals picked up 19 hits against the horrific Colorado pitching staff. Even with the strong game, he’s still slashing .217/.280/.391 and doesn’t belong anywhere near a fantasy roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:41 pm
  • Jahmai Jones triples and scores for Yankees
Jahmai Jones went 1-for-3 with a triple, walk, and run scored Friday against the Braves.

Advice: The Yankees’ offense was held to just one run and three hits in this one as Chris Sale and the Braves’ bullpen shut them down. Jones was the lone bright spot in just his fourth start of the season. It’s unlikely he earns a legitimate role but could get a handful more spot starts as long as Gleyber Torres remains out with a groin injury. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:27 pm

  • Four hits, three RBI in win
Iglesias went 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Iglesias was active early, singling and scoring a run in the second inning, hitting an RBI single in the third and adding a two-run single in the fourth. He later added another base hit in the seventh. Iglesias has gone an impressive 14-for-32 with six RBI and five runs scored in his return to the majors while primarily starting at second base against left-handed pitchers. • Leaves game with back tightness
Isbel exited Friday's game against the Rangers due to lower back tightness.

Advice: Garrett Hampson pinch hit for Isbel in the top of the fifth inning. Before exiting, Isbel hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning in his only at-bat of the game. Clarity on the severity of the injury should be known following Friday's game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:35 pm

  • Kyle Isbel homers, leaves game with back tightness
Kyle Isbel was removed from Friday night’s showdown against the Rangers due to tightness in his lower back.

Advice: The 27-year-old outfielder had slugged a 387-foot solo homer in his lone at-bat in the contest but was pinch-hit for the next time that he strolled to the plate in the fifth inning. It doesn’t sound like anything that should require a trip to the injured list, but fantasy managers should monitor his status over the weekend to be on the safe side. • Homers in win
Kelly went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a 2-1 win over the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Kelly's two-run home run off Erick Fedde in the second inning was the difference in the game, as the Tigers pitchers limited the White Sox to just one run. The homer was Kelly's second in four games, and he has registered a solid .267/.353/.500 slash in nine June contests. On the season, Kelly is slashing .238/.324/.373 with four home runs and 17 RBI over 142 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:33 pm
