• Set for live batting practice
Borucki (wrist) is set to throw live batting practice Friday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Borucki has thrown three bullpen sessions, the most recent of which was 30 pitches Monday. Assuming Friday goes according to plan, Borucki is expected to begin a rehab assignment and could return prior to the All-Star break. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Notches two hits, steal in win
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Ramirez has picked up right where he left off following a brief stint on the paternity list. He's gone 4-for-9 with two RBI and two runs scored over two games since he returned. The third baseman continues to do a little bit of everything for the Guardians with a .275/.333/.531 slash line, 18 home runs, 12 steals, 64 RBI and 53 runs scored through 68 contests this season. Ramirez is hitting .286 (14-for-49) in June. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

  • Continues impressive stretch
Brown (4-5) earned the win against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Advice: The only run scored against Brown came on an Andrew Benintendi solo homer in the fourth inning. Otherwise, Brown was solid again -- all six of Chicago's other hits were singles, and the right-handed hurler didn't issue any walks for the second straight outing. Brown had an awful 9.78 ERA through 23 innings across his first six starts this season, but he's since lowered that mark to 4.72. He's been especially impressive of late, racking up six straight quality starts and limiting his opponents to one run over 19 frames while posting a 22:4 K:BB across his past three outings. • Two thefts in loss
Siani went 0-for-2 with two stolen bases in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Siani twice got aboard on fielder's choices, and he was able to notch a steal each time. He's picked up three thefts over his last six games and now has nine steals on 12 attempts this year. The outfielder is slashing a middling .214/.258/.290 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 18 runs scored, three doubles and one triple over 164 plate appearances. Siani has maintained his place in the Cardinals' lineup primarily for his defense, and his speed is a positive even though he doesn't get on base frequently. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

  • Slugs two-run homer
Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Alonso gave New York a two-run lead with his blast to center field in the sixth inning, but Texas was able to mount a comeback and pull of the victory. The long ball continued a hot stretch for the first baseman, as he's in the midst of a five-game hitting streak during which he's batted .391 (9-for-23) with two homers and 10 RBI. Alonso is up to 16 home runs and 42 RBI on the campaign along with 42 runs and a .243/.321/.475 slash line. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

  • Increasing activity
Gonzales (forearm) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Gonzales has been on the injured list since mid-April but has slowly ramped up his activity. Tuesday marked his third bullpen session, and the next step in his return will be live batting practice Friday. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

  • Takes loss Wednesday
Fernandez (0-2) allowed a run on two hits over two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Marlins.

Advice: Fernandez had not given an earned run over his last 10 innings, earning three holds over nine appearances in that span. He wasn't as fortunate Wednesday, as Otto Lopez delivered a walk-off single in the ninth inning to stick Fernandez with the loss. The 26-year-old right-hander has been a positive part of the Cardinals' bullpen this year with a 2.59 ERA, though his 1.24 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB over 31.1 innings aren't particularly dominant. He's added a save and four holds but will likely continue to function mostly in a low-leverage role. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago
  • Collects two hits, stolen base
Langford went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in a 5-3 victory versus the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Langford logged an RBI on a based-loaded hit-by-pitch in the first inning and added a run-scoring single in the sixth. The rookie finished with his sixth multi-hit effort in June and pushed his batting average up to .288 on the month. That's a nice improvement after Langford batted just .222 coming into June, and the added hits have helped him become more of a run producer. Of Langford's 24 RBI on the season, 11 have come across his 16 contests this month. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

  • Throws live BP
Perez (groin) threw live batting practice Monday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: There weren't many details shared about the session, but Perez did tell manager Derek Shelton he felt fine after the activity. Perez may embark on a rehab assignment soon, though there isn't much clarity for the time being. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago
