• Sean Manaea wins, chased by rain
Sean Manaea pitched five innings before a long rain delay on Wednesday against the Yankees. He allowed just two hits and no runs while walking five and punching out three in a win.

Advice: This was almost the night Manaea would finally complete six innings for the first time since May 13th. Almost, that is, until a massive thunderstorm held this game up for almost two hours when he had thrown 77 pitches through five innings. Otherwise, Manaea was his usual self: missing some bats, avoiding hard contact, and dishing out plenty of walks. Rotoworld Today, 8:47 pm

  • Steps up in win
Liberatore (2-2) earned the win over Atlanta in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out eight over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Liberatore threw 85 pitches (54 strikes) in his longest outing of the season, which also earned him his first quality start. It was an impressive showing for the southpaw, as it was initially believed the Cardinals would be putting together a bullpen game for the nightcap. Liberatore had allowed three runs over his previous 4.1 innings entering Wednesday. He's now at a 3.86 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 36:16 K:BB through 44.1 innings over 27 appearances (five starts). Liberatore will likely return to a relief role soon unless the Cardinals opt to include him in a six-man rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 7:49 pm

  • Decent in loss
Elder (1-3) allowed two runs on four hits and struck out four without walking a batter over six innings, but he took the loss in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Advice: Elder turned in his second quality start of the season while stepping in for a spot start. This was his first big-league outing since May 19, but it's expected he'll return to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday after being appointed the 27th man for Wednesday's twin bill. He has a 5.76 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 23:11 K:BB over 29.2 innings across six starts in the majors this season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:42 pm

  • Shohei Ohtani slugs solo homer in win over White Sox
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two walks, and two runs scored in the Dodgers’ 4-0 win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Ohtani took Erick Fedde deep to lead off the first inning, setting a Dodgers record with an RBI in 10 straight games. He then drew a walk in the third and scored on a double by Freddie Freeman. Ohtani walked once again in the seventh to reach for the third time. The 29-year-old superstar is slashing .322/.402/.643 with 25 homers, 65 runs scored, 61 RBI, and 16 steals across 360 plate appearances as we reach the midway point of the season. He scattered four hits and did not walk a batter, tossing 73-of-103 pitches for strikes with seven strikeouts. The 25-year-old right-hander has been outstanding on the season, posting a 2.73 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 70/25 K/BB ratio across 89 innings. He’ll search for his 10th win when he takes on the Diamondbacks in Los Angeles next Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 7:23 pm

  • Erick Fedde surrenders four runs in loss to Dodgers
Erick Fedde allowed four runs with five strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Fedde served up a solo homer to Shohei Ohtani to lead off the first inning. He retired the next six batters before loading the bases with no outs in the third. Teoscar Hernandez drove a run in on a sacrifice fly before Freddie Freeman cleared the bases with a double. Fedde tossed three more scoreless frames, ending his day after six with five strikeouts. The 31-year-old right-hander will take a 3.23 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 91/25 K/BB ratio across 100 1/3 innings into a start against the Guardians in Cleveland on Tuesday. Rotoworld Today, 7:22 pm

The 24-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 3.86 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 36/16 K/BB ratio across 44 1/3 innings. He settled in for three more scoreless frames, ending with four strikeouts in a quality start. The 25-year-old right-hander holds a 5.76 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, and a 23/11 K/BB ratio across 29 2/3 innings. • Grayson Rodriguez goes seven strong in win
Grayson Rodriguez allowed two runs across seven innings in a 4-2 win over the Guardians. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Advice: Rodriguez’s changeup was especially lethal in this one: dropping three inches more than his season average and forcing five swings and misses. He ended his day on a beautiful one low and out of the zone to Brayan Rocchio that got him through seven innings for the second time in three starts. It was also very encouraging to see him shake off a poor first few innings and get stronger as the game went on. Rotoworld Today, 6:14 pm
